Finally came in under budget after months, nay YEARS of trying! I can't believe it.

I even have a heaving freezer after lots of YS shopping success.
Really zinged up ready for next month now. :TAUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Hubbs and I went on a carefully planned shop yesterday. We got a shop of £56.47 down to £32.08 through vouchers and cashback. We had a few reductions in there, so really got a lot for our money!
The only thing we didn't get was chicken, as it was just too expensive. We did get some reduced pork though, and have beef in the freezer..Swagbucks Amazon gift vouchers 2014 125/250

ordered another asda with free delivery. not a huge shop but a very good top up. im not a few pounds OVER budget for the month....however that did include a meal out which was nearly £20.00 that I wouldnt normally do.
only things i should need to buy before end of month is bread....im hoping for some NSD as ive only had 2 this month!
I am pleased though as this was my first month at this challenge and ive spend A LOT less than normal and I am starting to think about what I buy.
Looking forward to next month to do better
I am also defrosting a big chicken in the fridge for tomorrows sunday dinner....and i would have normally thrown it away. the date on it is June it should be ok right??216/2018 (make ££ in 2018)

Got a small top up shop today only needed bread, cranberry juice and orange juice. Popped to A!di as bread is cheaper in there only to find out they had no Hovis  then realised I had forgotton to bring my own carrier bag (had to buy one ), then had to queue for ages behind everyone with a trolley load
I do like A!di but never again for just a couple of bits im sticking to Mr T.
Anyone with fussy eaters like my ds, I can get him to drink fruit juice by making him a 'cocktail' equal measure of cranberry juice and orange juice then diluted with fizzy water. Terrible for his teeth but hes started to ask for fizzy drinks (due to kids at at school ) and I'd rather he had that than coke etc.
Spent £3.12 total wk 21.77/35 month 103.40/140
When does the month end on this thread? It doesn't make any difference to me as I budget weekly so will follow along with what the majority do.0 -
Well just managed to get tonight's dinner and bits for school packed lunches in for a grand total of 84p
I found an old morrisons voucher in an old purse so used this ... I even walked to the town centre so I didn't have any petrol cost xDFW

I currently have chickens in the freezer that are 8 months old and they are fine to use. Just defrost properly and cook thoroughly. You can even freeze the cooked chicken afterwards. I usually make stock out of the bones and freeze this for soup as well as any left over bits, I use the bits in curries, pies, puffs etc.0 -
How do you get multiple 'quotes' in a reply?
