    Hi All

Checked my cupboards and freezers, and for once I'm okay for store-cupboards items, but need to really look at getting delivery in for meat (just have pork chops, 2 cans of tinned tuna and 1 can of tinned salmon as main meal components)

Had a look online and saw this deal that looks quite good: http://www.musclefood.com/bundles/new-customer-meat-offer.html?gclid=COrV2cqS37kCFWfMtAod72MA_w

It seems to have very good reviews on trustpilot, and see that a few others on different threads on moneysavingexpert have looked into it, but wondered if anyone else here had tried it?
    Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

    Grocery Challenge 13 -spent £1453.06
    Grocery Challenge 12 -spent £1565.51
  • I spent £17.59 in morrisons - but that included 2 pork shoulder joints and cod for 2 meals for 3 - extras safely stored in the freezer. I then spent £17.95 in Aldi - got carried away with a few jars - capers, lazy chillis and lazy garlic, and a few biscuits I didn't really need! Then more milk £1 from Iceland as the builders have been here since Wednesday. Today I got milk, bread and some yellow stickered chicken and salmon fillets in ASDA for £5.10. So the total so far is £222.60. Not bad, especially as B in L has been here since Wednesday and will be staying a couple of weeks.

Daughter and boyfriend coming to stay next weekend - and the challenge isn't over until the 30th for us, so I will have to be extra creative with my last £27.40, but the cupboards and freezer are quite full. I'm thinking a roast and some veg, together with milk and bread will see us through.

Meal plans for the next few days include Roast pork today, leftovers in baked marrow tomorrow, Beef casserole on Tuesday, Roast chicken on Wednesday (4 of us, neighbour coming to eat with us), probably leftover beef casserole on Thursday

    We shall see.....

    I feel slightly sick.
I defrosted the chicken and cooked it properly but think its just in my mind that its not right :( ended up plating up most of it to give to my dad.

have some fresh mince for tomorrow and also chicken breast. so either enchiladas or spaghetti bolognaise tomorrow night, havnt decided yet :)

    Will this help http://www.fda.gov/downloads/Food/FoodborneIllnessContaminants/ucm109315.pdf

think the site is american but food is food whatever country you live in! Its states at the top that frozen food keeps safe indefinitely, the guidelines are for quality only and it says that a chicken will keep for a year :)

Where did you get the info from that it shouldn't be eaten?
  • Final grocery shop of,the month done, unfortunately I had to leave it to OH to meal plan and shop (Mr "but we need some variety") so came in over budget at £62

So my declare for September's challenge is: £381 spent, £340 budgeted

I suppose it could've been worse. Plus he's baking biscuits now to make up for it, so can't stay mad in the face of dunkables :)
