Wedding hymn recommendation?

I'm still stuck to which 3 I want for our wedding. I have listened to several but im probably missing lots of really good tuneful, joyful hymns. :|

All Things Bright and Beautiful is a classic for weddings, as is Morning is Broken. I also like Give Me Joy in my Heart.

You don't need three, btw. If you cut it down to two, your ceremony will be a bit shorter. Short and sweet for weddings IMO :D

I was going to say give me joy in my heart too, we had that - the bonus is people seem to know it too and hopefully they'll sing!

    Happy moneysaving all.

Do they HAVE to be hymns? many churches will allow songs which can be heard as a celebration of God 'Amazing Grace for example. 'Joyful Joyful' is another which can be sung in a very upbeat way. tbh - you can probably guess I am not a fan of the usual dirge for weddings!

Thankyou!!!! Give Me Joy in my Heart is such a beautiful hymn, loved that in primary (whilst been a choir and money taking boy at one point, and also got played in secondary school.) Couldn't remember the name and hadn't managed to find that one.

Cant really have morning has broken since it's an afternoon wedding.
Any others spring to mind, still searching google and youtube for help. :)
I quite like Amazing Grace and How great thou art.

Ohh and I want 3 hyms, i was asked if I wanted 3 I said yeah, I do hope to god i dont sweat buckets on the day! :(

    Love divine, all loves excelling?

(Or my brother's choice till vetoed by SIL-to-be - for those in peril on the sea. Just because he liked the tune, silly sod.)

I've never heard all Things Bright and Beautiful or Morning has broken at a wedding.
How about Love Divine, all loves excelling?

How about "Lord of hopefulness, Lord of all grace" an old school favourite, everyone knows it :)

In my own experience "Love Divine, all loves excelling" whilst a really lovely hymn, is not so well known and tends to limp along.

We only had one hymn at our blessing ceremony but it was "Shine, Jesus, Shine" as I love the tune! (a pretty uncoventional CofE vicar too)

    I quite like Amazing Grace..

I think it's a little sombre for a wedding. Very beautiful though. TBH, I'd see it more as a funeral song, but it's deffo used at weddings too, so up to you.

Jerusalem? That's always rousing and everyone knows the tune.
