I read an article today and they are back to normal timeline with valuations and aim to do them within 4 days of application.
Oh, that means mine should happen this week then!

It sounds like you should hear soon @caw379 - fingers crossed!

Yeah I think youve got a good chance, thats one thing off the list for you then! Good luck  B)
Thanks - good luck to you too. I'm hopeful the valuation will be ok. We had an offer accepted below asking price and the asking price was pretty reasonable to begin with as the property has been let out for the last couple of years as the vendor moved away and was unable to sell at the time. Its a big victorian house in a good area, so value should be ok. I hope! I'm more worried about HSBC coming back and telling me I spend too much on food! :)
  • Halifax valuation finally booked for weds 17/6 after we applied on 11/5.
A bit nervous as I'm self-employed and it's a substantial (almost £400k mortgage) in my sole name. Crossing everything at the mo.

Thank you! Yeah I think it would be unusual if the valuation is a problem if you've done your research before making an offer. HAHA same, we didn't know we would be buying so soon (expected to in the next three months so no sensible spending before application...) lock down takeaways are very much present on my bank statements!!!

Exactly the same re not expecting to be submitting a mortgage application now. We were intending to extend, but lockdown with 3 kids quickly demonstrated that we needed more space than the planned extension could provide. Then I fell in love with a house that is perfect for us... surely HSBC understand the need for a lockdown takeaway? :)

Thats impressive, surviving this with 3 kids!! Hopefully they are human beings and also understand my need to play animal crossing while eating pizza... ha  B)
I feel like when things get going out the blue it means it meant to be  *fingers crossed*

Does anyone know how long Halifax are taking to do valuations at the moment? My broker said it’s normal for a 2 week wait to even book the appointment? Is this right?
Call Halifax directly and speak to them. I had to push the evaluation as my broker "could not" get hold of Halifax apparently. They are very nice and they will help you with your query. Also, it took less than two weeks to book it. I have my evaluation this Wednesday so I hope it will go through!
Thank you. I didn’t realise I could call them directly I thought only my broker could speak to them. I’ll give them a call tomorrow. Thanks! Best luck with your valuation on Wednesday :)

I’m waiting on a Halifax valuation. Hope it doesn’t take a month like yours has!

@lizhd we found out through MA and then the estate agent about the valuation. Our valuation was done 3rd of June. We’ve not been asked for anything since 28th May. We’re hoping we’ll find out this week.
    Fingers crossed for everyone 😊
