  • Halifax mortgage for c£380k, 85% LTV -

    Offer accepted 21/3
    Mortgage app in 11/5
    Valuation fee paid 12/5

I was surprised how quickly they requested the valuation fee!

Our application went in to NatWest 1st of May, requested proof of deposit and confirmation of furlough on 7th of May. Everything uploaded 11th of May, anyone think there’s a chance we could hear something soon? Apparently we are getting a desktop valuation done. LTV is 75%.

    Hi,
so as I’m a bag of nerves I thought I’d jump on this thread after lurking for a while 😬 we’re first time buyers and are just waiting on our mortgage.

    Our timeline so far:
    8/05- view house
    11/05- Put in offer
15/05- offer accepted (dealing with government trustees so decision took longer)
18/05- Started process again with new MA who got us an AIP with HSBC
20/05- full application submitted with HSBC
    22/05- solicitors instructed
27/05- HSBC request information on if partners Applying for self employment or any other Covid grant (which he’s not) and bank statements dated 7 days before application
    27/05- valuation
    27/05- MA sends outstanding information

So nervous for the outcome. Checking my phone every 5 minutes and trying to contain myself from calling our mortgage advisor every 5 minutes to if he’s heard anything.  I’ve basically convinced myself that we’re not going to get the mortgage because everything’s gone to simply so far, we got our first offer accepted £15k under asking price and were the only people to view it.  It’s got everything we want and more for our first home. We we wanted it from our first house stalk before we viewed it🙈🙈

Application submitted to HSBC on 11/05. Still waiting. Update today that they’re behind due to technical issues with their portal. Another week or more of waiting by the sounds of it.

Ah no, that's rubbish, we have just submitted with them this week, so we will be waiting a good while.  Hopefully, you hear something soon @Bowley

Thank you! Partner is self employed so I guess theres a few extra queries needed. I don’t think our case manager is in much of a rush either.
Fingers crossed for you, I’ve read some getting their offer from HSBC in a couple of weeks.

    Hello everyone,
Both myself and hubby are FTB and our mortgage application went in with HSBC 27th May and waiting for whether they've accepted us. Valuation was done last Wednesday. Mortgage adviser has said they have ok'd hubby's accounts etc he’s self employed and now they are going through mine. I’m employed but swapped jobs in April, still same line of work.
I'm a bit concerned as much as MA has said its looking ok so far, I went and checked my Experian report and I noticed four soft searches by HSBC in the last week, one also stated 'employment check' which I thought was odd because I'm quite sure employment details don't go on your credit report? Am I wrong here? I’m concerned because they’ve not done a hard search. I know scores aren’t really considered by lenders as they don’t see this but both mine and the hubby’s are excellent so it’s just circumstances and 90%LTV that’s worrying me. Very nervous wait!
