Update on me:My broker has spoken to Kensington this morning - and they've reduced the amount they are willing to lend to me by 11k. This is because I currently pay £60 a month for ACCOMADATION, which is deducted from my pay.Broker has gone back to them and another underwritter has agreed this shouldn't have been added to the calculation. They are still showing a 48hr turnaround time, but unfortunatly, the last two times have shown me i'll now be waiting over a week for the outcome of this.I honestly 100% feel like they're dragging their heals because they don't want to lend to me. I'm in good mind to pull out because the stress of this is really effecting my health. The only thing keeping me going is how perfect the house is.0

Keep positive (although I know it is hard in current times)!
Once it is all sorted you will be glad that you stuck with it

Amazing! I'm in the same position awaiting to hear back, but very nervous as I'm doing also 95 LTV and cant have valuation whilst we wait. Did you get a letter/ call to say its approved subject to valuation?anerise said:Heard from mortgage advisor today that NatWest have approved our mortgage subject to valuation. That was a nice piece of good news. We’re 95% LTV so have to wait until lockdown is over for a valuation and the formal offer.
updated timeline
First time buyers, 95% mortgage (5 year fix)
29/2- house viewing
2/3- put in first offer
4/3- final offer accepted after 2 days of back and forth
5/3- chain complete, solicitor instructed
6/3- first chat with mortgage broker
16/3- AIP with NatWest
18/3- full application submitted through broker
23/3- valuation booked
24/3- Lockdown! Valuation now on hold
27/3- underwriters asked for some more info
31/3- mortgage approved subject to valuation...now we wait!
That's all I want to know to put my mind at rest🤞🤞🤞🤞0 -
We're at exactly the same stage as anerise, accepted subject to valuation also with Natwest. Our broker called to let us know, and that it's probable they're going to do it remotely - fingers crossed 🤞Beckiwf said:

We got a call from our broker on Tuesday to say the mortgage has been approved subject to valuation. Definitely a relief. I’m sort of praying they come up with some technological wizardry to do desktop valuations for high LTV houses but that’s probably wishful thinking, sighBeckiwf said:

Here's mine so far:
04/03 - offer on house accepted. Yay!
16/03 - application submitted with Barclays
17/03 - told broker they got my DOB wrong (typo)
20/03 - DOB corrected but told that no longer 95% LTV only 90% so new product chosen
23/03 - PCV uploaded to confirm changed product
30/03 - confirmed that credit check and automated valuation have both been done and no issues with either
06/04 - proof of address requested and uploaded
14/04 - Barclays claim not to have received the PCV despite broker seeing it on the portal, broker uploads it again.
20/04 - requested a form to confirm whether I've been affected by covid, e.g. furlough (luckily I haven't). Later on the broker confirmed everything but ID was showing as accepted on the portal.
23/04 - proof of address has been accepted, now just waiting for driving licence to be checked.
I've found this whole process draining and frustrating, it feels like it has been going on forever! I know that covid and lockdown has thrown a huge spanner in the works... someone please reassure me it won't be like this when it comes to remortgaging when I reach the end of my fixed rate?!

Barclays back office operation in India was impacted by the overnight lockdown imposed. Covid has likewise meant adapting to a different way of office working in the UK. These are not normal times.NoisyGiraffe said:Here's mine so far:

Yes, I appreciate that. It still feels like there's an element of hit and miss going on despite the covid issues. One of our friends managed to get a Barclays offer in around a week even after the lockdown in India. Not quite sure how it went through so quickly but he was surprised to hear how long mine has taken.Thrugelmir said:Barclays back office operation in India was impacted by the overnight lockdown imposed. It should be relatively easy when it comes to remortgaging for your fixed rate.... Especially if Barclays do great rates towards the end but it won't be as difficult as this time.NoisyGiraffe said:Here's mine so far:

If you think this is stressful.... You've got to get a lot of patience when dealing with solicitors!1
