Heard from mortgage advisor today that NatWest have approved our mortgage subject to valuation. That was a nice piece of good news. We’re 95% LTV so have to wait until lockdown is over for a valuation and the formal offer.

    updated timeline
First time buyers, 95% mortgage (5 year fix)
    29/2- house viewing
    2/3- put in first offer
4/3- final offer accepted after 2 days of back and forth
    5/3- chain complete, solicitor instructed
6/3- first chat with mortgage broker
    16/3- AIP with NatWest
18/3- full application submitted through broker
    23/3- valuation booked
24/3- Lockdown! Valuation now on hold
27/3- underwriters asked for some more info
31/3- mortgage approved subject to valuation...now we wait!
Well done! That is very exciting!!!!!

I'm still waiting. Broker originally said I would have an update on the new docs I submitted last wednesday by close of play yesterday, but now apparantly I should hear back by today. I'm out of hope though.
  • Had a text from Nationwide today to say that our valuation is on the 2nd April, this is a remote valuation. Fingers crossed.

I am still waiting on any update from Kensington.
My vendor is emailing me every day to see if i have an update. I'm extreamly worried that she is going to pull out of the sale if I don't get anything soon. I have barely slept. I know there are things going on in the world and I feel extreamly selfish for wanting an answer, but I honestly believe this is my only chance to get on the property ladder until companies begin doing 95% mortgages again, which we don't know when that will be.

Application went in on the 05.03. It has been a long month.

Personally I would never have direct contact with the other party! Communication is best done through the EA. The situation is out of your control.

Estate agent closed it's doors a few weeks ago for the forseable future - unfortunatly it's the only way I can contact her now. Trying to buy some more land, so need to talk to her.

I don't want to jinx it but looking very likely the developer would consider a lower offer... I will know by end of the week - OMG this could actually happen, I had completely abandoned all hope...!
