No news from my brokers yet today. The EA has asked me for an update, ASAP. Not helping my stress levels. It hasn't even been a week yet since my application went in. Stressed beyond belief. I just want to know. My brokers have been fab...but the estate agent is making me think this is being slow. :(

Hi everyone, checking in to the thread to relieve my family  :D

Awaiting a decision but I have a horrible feeling something is going to happen and I will be rejected (e.g. I switched jobs in Jan//already had 2 AiP checks, one from a "hard checker" apparently//I cancelled a credit card and closed the account in Jan, lowering my total available credit) despite his reassurances. :s

Like a few people here, I didn't really expect to be putting an offer in so soon. I found a place I loved, saw it in person, hated it, saw a HTB property I didn't think I'd like at all, absolutely love it and had to move quickly due to its popularity...
    So, here we go.... timeline!

12 Jan - HTB newbuild on the market
    30 Jan  - First AiP through L&C
    29 Feb - First viewing
03 Mar - Second viewing, second AiP from LBS
    03 Mar - Reserved flat
04 Mar - Offer accepted and taken off the market!
04 Mar - Solicitor instructed *crickets since then*
10 Mar - Mortgage application put in by broker

....... 10 days of stress and crickets from solicitors incoming..... Wishing everyone the best ~ if it doesn't happen, it's probably for the best!

Hi! I’m a long time lurker, but am now waiting too so feel like I can finally join fully!
    My timeline is:
Viewed several properties, saw this one on 15th Feb.
    19th Feb- second viewing
    28th Feb- offer accepted.
    2nd March- AIP given (NatWest)
    3rd March- full application submitted
    4th March- solicitor instructed
12th March- mortgage valuation & homebuyers report to be completed

Now all I can do is to wait....
  • Hi, I just thought to help viewers I should detail my recent mortgage application with Halifax and HTB.
1st Feb- Went to see a new build property with their kier agent really liked the house
2nd Feb- Went again to reserve the property (£500 deposit) was asked to ring their mortgage company and confirm affordability and if I can get the mortgage and HTB load etc. which I did and got accepted (AIP) and HTB calculator. Paid my deposit t reserve the property.
4th of Feb- Applied for full mortgage with Halifax.
5th of Feb - Valuation booked for 6th of Feb
6th of Feb-  Valuer couldnt come to value the house as he double booked himself - Valuation now booked for 7th.
7th of Feb- valuation came out same price as offered. (Friday)
11th of Feb - Mortgage offer revived. (Tuesday so One day after valuation) - Still waiting of ATP (applied in the 5th of Feb) as there was a long wait due to them moving offices etc was told about this in advance.
19th of Feb - ATP received - told my solicitor I wish to exchange and complete on the same day.
21st of Feb - Solicitor applied for ATE and completion permission for the same day (28th of Feb)
25th of Feb - Received ATE and was told something needed amended and sent back to them to get confirmation that I can complete and money will be there for the developer.
27th of Feb - received confirmation I can complete.
28th of Feb - Got my keys the house by midday.

So everything was really quick and relatively hassle free was told from the start it would be straight forward - Halifax did not even ask for bank statements - The mortgage was only for 60% LTV though as I had to pay a large deposit to cover for shortfall due to my affordability for the house I was buying so 20% from HTB and 20% from myself.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I just wanted to ask how did you find out when you got your ATP from HTB? Was it directly from HTB?

my application went in on the 26th February but still haven’t heard anything yet.

I got offered my mortgage last week by NatWest and it went relatively smooth - there’s the online tracker which is helpful. Didn’t ask for anything other than copies of my last payslip which my broker already had!

You can check online on their portal and they will also send you an email as soon as they release ATP. You can also call them to check progress etc

    Good afternoon all,
I have made an application using a broker and we have paid the valuation fee. Today was checking my credit karma and noticed
6 hard searches from Halifax (Bank of Scotland plc) - Checking Credit Application
1 Soft search from Lloyds bank group - Affordability
Has anyone applied with Halifax had the same or similar situation?
We got the AIP on 07/03/2020 (it was higher than what we are lending) and the searches were made between  10 and 11/03.
I have contacted my broker and waiting for his answer.
    Cheers,

Which online portal is this sorry? I don’t have any details as it was done by my broker so I wouldn’t know how to check? I tried to call earlier but I was on 15th in the que so I was going to call later

Do you have a link to the portal? And is this only if you apply yourself, or did you go through a broker? My application went in on the 25th (via broker) and I'm still waiting. I was told 14 working days, so that's not up yet, but it'd give me comfort if there was somewhere I could see progress. I've already asked my broker for one update, but don't want to keep hassling them!
