  • Just made full application via accord with my partner. Rejected last year with nationwide due to issues with fraudulent pay day loan application in my name, gotten an aip from accord based on 5% deposit - loaning 147,250.

Hoping to be good news, but not holding my breath after last years decline
  • Mortgage offer received, Barclays have messed up big time and missed a glaringly obvious fact on all the paperwork... offer is currently being rescinded :( unless we can find another £10k.

I'm also using Accord as well so fingers crossed. Where are you so far with your application?

I'm sure it'll work out, are you using a broker?
  • We are now 16 days in to the application. Lender being very very sticky about proving we no longer claim childcare costs. Awaiting a letter from HMRC to confirm that but worried it’ll take more than this week to arrive therefore our seller will be getting antsy. Nightmare.

Have they sent a valuer for your house yet?

    Who's the lender?

    Fingers crossed for you
  • No, they won’t book valuation until the mortgage is agreed by underwriters as they do a free valuation. It’s Nationwide. I’m in a bit of limbo really as my surveyor isn’t on their panel so there’s no point getting my full survey done until valuation just in case, don’t really want to pay out for conveyancing to start without a mortgage offer and everyone is waiting on us! My impatient side keeps wanting to just pay solicitors and get on with at least that side, but the way they’ve messed us around has really shaken me as we’ve got an AIP and it should have been smooth sailing!
  • Still anxiously waiting, every other part of the process as been checked off. Still waiting for Nationwide. They cancelled the original valuation due to missing paperwork (had been sent but missed), valuation done 2 weeks ago, report received early last week. Report sent back to surveyor because the report was incomplete. Now still waiting. Limbo!

To be fair, I'd say you'd receive something fairly soon once they get the letter, then you'll get a decision. I've done a lot of reading and I'm sure it will be smooth sailing.

Do you have a mortgage broker? They should be keeping you up to date/reassuring you through this time.

I've just received my solicitor documents today, but awaiting confirmation on the valuation done today, so we'll see,
