I’m also waiting on Santander. My application was sent in the 9th Oct. Self employed and borrowing a large sum. Wish they’d just give me a answer as I’d prefer to know if it’s no! So I can move on to another lender. Don’t want to loose the house0

I’m awaiting a decision from HSBC still. Our application went in 02/10/19 and I was told they were really quick. 10/10/19 they asked for copies of last years p60 and letters from employees as we both started new jobs in July. Then yesterday they’ve come back and asked for proof we’ve repaid some loans/CC (we sold our house on 26/09/19 and used the proceeds to pay off debt that we’d taken out for work on the house, but it’s not yet lifted from our credit report) despite having already sent a bank statement showing the payments. We’ve got proof of all except 1, not sure if we’ll definitely need that as it may take another week to get it from the Loan provider.
So frustrated. We want to exchange by 10/11/19 and that’s feeling further and further away. The vendors solicitor took 3 weeks just to send draft contracts through, but I can’t chase up anything else until I have the mortgage offer for fear they’re going to reject us. Hate hate HATE the waiting!!!0 -

We finally got our offer from HSBC this morning, our application went in on 02/10/19 but we had a few “issues” to prove (that we’d repaid debts and letters re our employment)0

Second application with Nationwide. First one was accepted subject to valuation which came back almost £30k (!!) lower than both Zoopla market value and our accepted offer (which was some £8k lower than the asking price.
Going through Habito who have been decent so far. Second application DIP 30th October, valuation booked in for 5th November.
Im assuming given the loan amount is £1k less than the first application and no changes in circumstances that my second application should also be agreed subject to valuation of the new property?
Me and my fiancee are both FTBs and planning a wedding at the same time so having to go find a new property after our valuation issues has not been ideal!0 -

Personally I would tahe no creedance from a Zoopla valuation. Comparison to other recently sold properties in the area is a far better benchmark.0 -
Waiting for a decision from Barclays.
AIP Sept 2019
18/10 Offer accepted on property
26/10 Mortgage application via broker done
Right now I’ve been told that the underwriter should give a decision on Monday conditional on a valuation following that. Concerned that the valuation will come back lower that our offer price! We will see.
Good luck all fellow mortgage getters!Mortgage - £274,000 to pay
