Personally I would tahe no creedance from a Zoopla valuation. Comparison to other recently sold properties in the area is a far better benchmark.

Nearby solds were in line with the zoopla estimate - so was v surprised to say the least...

Anyway.... Just been told by Habito that new application is approved again subject to valuation of the new property. Finger Crossed...
  • Waiting for a decision for six weeks now. Applied via broker, MA submitted on 20/09. We were told we have an update until 'end of the business today' but nothing!
'Valuation instructed' for nearly three weeks. :(
    Lost six weeks with Barclays:(
  • Hey! Mortgage broker is currently in the process of applying for our AIP with nationwide but they’ve come back asking for landlord details. It’s no bother and I’ve handed them over but any idea why? Has anyone else had this?
  • Waiting for a decision from Barclays.

    AIP Sept 2019
    18/10 Offer accepted on property
26/10 Mortgage application via broker done

Right now I’ve been told that the underwriter should give a decision on Monday conditional on a valuation following that. Concerned that the valuation will come back lower that our offer price! We will see.

Good luck all fellow mortgage getters!

Yesterday our broker said that Barclays is taking 4-5 weeks right now. They're offering low rates and are inundated with applications! Ugh! We'll have to be patient. At least our broker and their admin team are really communicative and seem to know how to get through the process.

  • Received the valuation has been booked in text today with nationwide. Anyone had the valuation then declined an offer. So nervous.
  • anyone able to help with regards to how long it should be until i hear back from santander?

submitted our application via a broker on 23rd October (text from santander saying thanks for application at 9am)
asked for another wage slip on 23rd and sent it straight over
the valuation took place on the 24th

and haven't heard back since. my broker said it would take 2 weeks so we are just over that to get the offer. haven't had any update since then and i'm freaking out lol
  • We are also waiting have our application in with aldermore, and broker said today we sbould have a loan offer for the end of the week so fingers crossed
  • [Waiting for a decision from Barclays.

    AIP Sept 2019
    18/10 Offer accepted on property
26/10 Mortgage application via broker done

04/11 Underwriters approve, valuation booked for Wednesday 6/11!

Now I'll be on the edge of my seat from Wednesday until I hear back about the valuation. How long does it take? Hoping for the best, planning for the worst. We can't increase our deposit so any difference will mean we lose the property, unless the sellers budge! :undecided

Then again - a friend of mine walked away from a house where the mortgage valuation was too low. The seller then realised all the other mortgage companies would prob say the same thing, wanted a quick sale, and dropped the price! So it's not all doom just very uncertain .......

Got to say our mortgage broker has been cracking through the whole thing. Spent ages answering questions and made it all seem quite painless so far apart from a late night email asking for our mothers' maiden names :D

    Hi guys,

I am also playing the dreaded waiting game... we are using L&C so a bit concerning how many people are saying they have had problems with them!

    We have the DIP
    Full application submitted 31/10
    Additional Documents requested 04/11
    Queries on docs asked/answered 05/11

I'm not sure if that means they are done with queries on those documents or if more queries are going to come in dribs and drabs.
Waiting for the valuation to take place on the new property.

I have no idea how long L&C generally take but it sounds from others like it could be a while.
A big thank you to all comping posters!! :T
