Anyway.... Just been told by Habito that new application is approved again subject to valuation of the new property. Finger Crossed...

Just had the text from Nationwide offering the mortgage :) Let the wonderful joys of conveyancing begin!
  • Have been reading this thread to get me through the anxious wait on mortgage decision, luckily we just got the email and text from nationwide that they have issued our mortgage offer :):):)

Our timeline (for buying in Scotland)
    3.10 AIP
12.10 First Viewing of THE house
15.10 Second Viewing of THE house
    16.10 Noted Interest
17.10 Made offer am (rejected - we were being cheeky), PM made second offer which was accepted
    28.10 Mortgage appointment with Nationwide
4.11 text from Nationwide that application received (not sure why it took a week to get this)
5.11 Text and Email that Offer issued :)

Moving onto waiting on 'exchange' (concluding missives)...lets hope we can get they keys by the end of the month :):)

Hi everyone, I’m anxiously waiting too! We have no debt and good credit scores but I just get so nervous awaiting the decision as my husband does a lot of overtime and I’m always worried about how much they take that into account even though broker said it would be fine.
    DIP 18.10
    Full application submitted 21.10
    Valuation done on 29.10
    Valuation report received 5.11
    Extra documents requested 5.11
Lender is NatWest, gosh I’m nervous!

I walked away from L&C prior to submission - they were never available when i was unfortunately!

Which lender are you going with - has a valuation been instructed just yet?

The guy that submitted the application always answered the phone but it then gets transferred to another department and the new guy literally never answers the phone but has responded to all of my emails.

Valuation has been instructed but can’t see how long that is likely to take from the info on their portal.
A big thank you to all comping posters!! :T
  • We are awaiting an AIP from Nationwide (also in Scotland!)

Do you mind me asking if your application was straight forward? I have old credit issues so that’s the spanner in our works... :(:(

My Nationwide timeline was pretty quick to be honest - I'm a FTB with debts, albeit with a decent income.

25/10 - Offer accepted by Vendor
30/10 - AIP from Nationwide & Application submitted by Habito
31/10 - Text from Nationwide confirming application and valuation instructed
    5/11 - Valuation conducted
5/11 - Text from nationwide confirming valuation, quickly followed by another confirming a Mortgage Offer

Ours was a simple case, FTBs, combined income of £100k borrowing £285k with 10% down (not HTB so simpler)

Nationwide no longer leave a hard search on your credit file, so if you are concerned about waiting you can complete the AIP yourself on their website and it will let you know straight away
  • Our application was pretty straight forward apart form me being an EU citizen with a student loan in my own country (they never actually queried this).

We did our AiP online and after arranged a meeting with their mortgage person who helped us with our application. We provided a lot of the documentation upfront (3x bank statements, 3 x payslips etc) just in case they queried something, but they never did.

However, me and my partner are both on very good salaries with no credit card debt and god credit scores.
  • 23rd Oct: Application submitted to Santander - told we should hear from Santander by the 1st Nov

23rd Oct: Valuation booked in for the 24th
    24th Oct: Valuation took place
6th Nov: Chased Santander and was told our application is being held whilst they confirm we are not related to the sellers, due to the property being worth 40k more than we are buying it for (we're not related btw!)

So now we are waiting again.......... fingers crossed they don't take too long!!
  • Small update...

    DIP on 25/10/19 with Bluestone
    HTB application on on 04/10/19
Full mortgage application in on 05/10/19
    Underwriting started on 07/11/19
    Valuation booked for 08/11/19

    Nervous is an understatement!!
    Good luck everyone!
