Hi,
We are currently going through a Shared Ownership mortgage application with Halifax. The property is a new build and from a Housing Association.
18/8 DIP for full amount required.
16/9 Full application submitted to Halifax by FA. Only 1 payslip for both of us required.
21/9 Valuation has been booked for 26th. FA said she will chase after this date to see if anything else is required.
I have heard that Halifax are pretty quick. How long does it normally take to receive the mortgage offer?
Thanks0 -

Hi guys, I'm new to this! We have just found the perfect family home for us (and 2 kiddies) and have started the mortgage application. It's not been plain sailing at all as we previously had a DMP (within the last 6 years) so that's really held us back until now. Everything was going along fine, had our offer accepted on the house and got a phone call yesterday from our broker saying because we have a returned DD (not rent/utility/essential bills related) it could be a flat rejection for the mortgage application as adverse credit lenders always look through bank statements
Currently feeling very disheartened over the whole thing. Especially seeing as our son got wind of a potential house and school move and has just got his head around it!
Fingers crossed for you all! Such a nerve wrecking time. Waiting to hear tomorrow!!!0 -
Well I'm glad to say we have received our formal mortgage offer, following on from our survey last Thursday. Natwest and our Broker have been very good up to now. All we need is for the sellers to find their property and we're ready to go, the waiting game continues.0

back here after having to pullout of our first buy as it just needed too much doing to it after the home buyers report,so put an offer in on another property nd had it accepted just waiting on broker to hear back from lender to what we can do now0

Hi all, can finally join here - been saving for a deposit for about 5.5 years now. We've had an offer accepted and passed initial credit checks for a post office mortgage 5 year fix at 2.11%. Payment has been taken for survey too.
Various paperwork has now been requested, have sent off anything we can electronically and I'm now waiting for my first direct current account statement to arrive so we can post off the remainder. Just want it all submitted!
Fingers crossed for everyone here that everything goes through smoothly
Saving for a deposit: £11,621.15
20/25lbs

New to this and not sure if I’m worrying unnecessarily. Going through Nationwide as a FTB and using a broker.
AIP: 22 Aug
Offer accepted: 30 Aug
Valuation: 14 Sept
Valuation completed and awaiting review text: 14 Sept
It’s now been just over 2 weeks (or 12 working days) and still no word whether or not I’ve got the offer. Should I be worried that is taking so long to get the offer?
I’ve spoken to my broker and he’s told me not to worry (numerous times) and I’ve not been asked for any other docs, so just sitting here waiting ..... very stressful!0 -
Still waiting here - offer accepted 9th August and mortgage application done 18th August...
Currently waiting for sellers to agree to divide land into two parcels so the main one fits under building society criteria, then it has to go back to valuers, then back to building society and then hopefully we will get an offer.
Not holding my breath - the goalposts have moved so many times in this process I full expect the building society to come up with some new requirement despite me specifically asking whether this was the last thing and them saying yes...
Fingers crossed...0
