    Hi

Wasn't sure wether to start a new thread or not so thought I'd post in here. My query is that I transfer money between my current and savings account a couple of times a month. This is just to cover unforeseen things I need money for or put some money in my savings at end of month.. So when the lender sees these transfers in and out to another account will they ask to see the statements of the other account even though it's just my savings?

Also is it ok to make notes on your statements going to the lender. For eg I deposited 850 into my current account from PayPal. This was from personal sale of a mac. Is this something they would likely query?

    Thanks

Our lender hasn't queried transfers to and from savings accounts, although they've quibbled pretty much everything else! Mind you, they've also not issued a mortgage offer yet either so I'm not sure we're a good example... :o

So far I've had to pay off my student loan  and wait for an agreed payrise to actually *arrive* - met those conditions so hopefully now WE are ok (but docs only sent off today so no approval yet). Sadly the house has been valued at zero (because it has 'too much land' apparently) so we're now quibbling/negotiating over that...

Finding the whole process quite vexing and rather tiresome. Application submitted 18th August so we're just over 4 weeks in. And there was me thinking this bit would be straightforward :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • Mortgage offer finally with us after it was submitted on 21st August :)
moving to the next thread now
    Good luck everyone:T

I thought I'd add my experience. I went straight to full application for the mortgage, including AIP and full mortgage application at the same time. The next day, just 20 hours later, I had the mortgage offer from the lender. This includes the valuation.
  • Hello Everyone,

I've been following this thread for a little while now and thought i'd add my own little timeline on.

    I am a FTB.

    02/09/2017 - DIP with Natwest
    07/09/2017 - Offer made on a house
    09/09/2017 - Offer accepted
09/09/2017 - Conveyor and solicitor Instructed
12/09/2017 - Full application submitted, however to Santender (better deal and willing to lend on IBSF)
12/09/2017 - Text and Email received to say Santander had recieved application.

    Waiting begins....[My first post]

    An update to timing

    15/09 Valuation Carried out
15/09 Text and Email from Santander to confirm Mortgage Offer
    16/09 Solicitor pack received
22/09 Forms taken back to the solicitor (only time i can get there before closing time at 5pm)
  • We got our mortgage offer an hour ago!:D

Survey and valuation were fine, due to my girlfriends employment contract we were rejected at first, broker appealed and loads of payslips and letters sent after we were accepted!

    Good luck to all.

Millennials can get on the property ladder ;):p
  • Hi guys

Had an In principle offer from tesco... does anyone know if they would have already done a credit check at this point as I have just been into HSBC who did a soft credit check and have said we couldn't have an offer.

I have sent all my documents off and are waiting for a response ...so nervous ...has anyone else gone through tesco?

    Finally, some actual news!

30th June - decision in principle for £215k
9th Aug - offer accepted on house
17th Aug - full application done through broker for £215k
22nd Aug - broker requested extra docs
29th Aug - building society got back to broker to say would only lend £212k
29th Aug - 21st Sept - much to-ing and fro-ing with various amounts between £195k and £206k bandied about, during which time I (a) received a pay rise, (b) paid off my student loan and (c) got very stressed
11th Sept - valuation received - house valued at £0 due to 'too much land'
21st Sept - broker confirmed building society will now lend £215k :j and just needs letter from solicitor about splitting the amount of land into two parcels (or something)

Probably no closer than we were before, but having the right amount agreed feels like we've at least crossed one hurdle, and the solicitor seemed to think they could deal with the land issue relatively easily (I'm not holding my breath). Five weeks today since we put the application in and I hope we get an actual offer pretty soon...

Very glad I ignored advice and instructed the solicitor right at the start rather than waiting til we got a mortgage offer! It might all still go wrong, but at least if it doesn't, we have half a chance of being in before Christmas!
  • Trying another lender. Bit stressed. My offer to purchase was accepted over a month ago. Getting close to the move in date, but still have no mortgage.
