    So impatient!

Met broker to put in full application last Thursday (17th August) - he said the valuation should be booked by the back end of this week. Emailed this morning to check :o and they said they had it in their diary to chase today and they'd let me know once it was arranged.

Not heard anything, and probably won't now til after the bank holiday. Pah! Building society had to come back to us for a couple of extra documents, which may have delayed things a bit I suppose - although it's annoying as they're things the broker should have known they would want in the first place and I could easily have provided at the start if I'd known...

Hey ho. It's only been just over a week for us I suppose - I'm going to have to just be more patient! :o :rotfl:

Going through a broker through santander. Feeling so nervous and can't think about anything else!

9th Aug - viewed the property
11th Aug - DIP approved through our broker with santander
12th Aug - 1st offer on property declined, 2nd offer accepted
25th Aug - finally broker has all documents needed, was waiting on one document I had to request new copy of!

Hoping broker submits today, so nervous and literally told about 5 people as don't want to get hopes up and then not get mortgage offer :(

What's santander turn around like from full application to mortgage offer?

Good luck everyone who is awaiting a mortgage offer :)
  • Our timeline is
6th August - AIP and hard credit check done. Plot reserved.
14th August - meet with broker and handed over docs.
21st August - full application submitted with Santander and vaulation instructed.
31st August - we will be meeting with the solicitors.

So far no news from anyone but the surveyor rang my husband yesterday by mistake so hopefully the vaulation has at least been booked now

question on surveys maybe wrong place to ask but thinking of having a full survey done would you wait till you get the mortgage offer before having your own full survey done

    cheers

I wasn't going to wait Middy, but the mortgage broker said it was best to - that way if anything comes up in the valuation you can ask the surveyor to take a closer look.

In my mind the surveyor should be noticing whatever-it-is anyway!

But I suppose at least if you can wait you can be sure you've got a mortgage on that house before shelling out for a survey...

(Not that I'm spending my days fretting about all the things that could go wrong... :o )

We've applied direct and so just speak direct to the BS to get info of where we are at, I'd pop a call into the broker and ask.
