Good luck JB! I have decided to let the stress go and let my advisor/broker do the hair pulling. The good thing with having the valuation the day we come back is that my mind says our file has gone as far as it can for now. Nothing more to happen until post valuation. Im probably wrong but that thought pattern means i can relax and not worry.
I hope all goes well and you get your offer before you go, imagine the relief!0 -
Update:
Valuation instructed. One step closer!!0 -
Halle-bloomin-lujah! :T
Email to confirm mortgage offer issued today! I am soooo happy, had the estate agent breathing down my neck again earlier today, so felt great to be able to go back to her to say all was in order and solicitor instructed to commence searches etc.
It's been a long three weeks! Phew.
Good luck to all those still waiting, try to remain more calm and patient than I did :rotfl:0 -
Great new pumpkin! :j
Complete lack of patience from me. Full application only done last Thursday and already I'm tearing my hair out:rotfl: Gone against all advice (again) and instructed solicitors already, so searches have already been commissioned
Whatever happens, it won't be me holding things up! :rotfl:

Mortgage was agreed by the underwriter on 7th and valuation carried out the next day - but STILL no report delivered to our lender. It's really testing my patience now as I can't see how it could possibly take so long. I'm also losing confidence in the lenders internal process if twice-daily chasers and escalations to managers haven't produced a result after almost two weeks.0

Just had confirmation that our solicitor has received funds from the bank, feels surreal that we have actually done it.. contracts signed and keys being handed over on Friday. Best of luck to everyone waiting for news x0

More updates:
04/08 - Reserved house
08/08 - Agreement in Principle with Halifax for £108k
10/08 - Full Mortgage application submitted with Halifax
11/08 - Hard credit search on my credit report showing
14/08 - Told by mortgage adviser I've passed there initial credit checks and they have instructed valuation
16/08 - Received Help to Buy approval and authority to proceed
17/08 - Valuation Done and has come back all OK
18/08 - MA called me to advise Halifax have come back with 2 queries.
First is that my May and June payslips are slightly lower than my July, this is becuase I had a slight pay rise in July, Halifax are happy to proceed just off the July payslip.
Second is that there is a 'notice of correction' on my credit report, after I disputed something about a year ago, which has since been sorted out. Halifax have sent it to there underwriters to 'tick a box' but all should be no issues.
So apparently once its sent to there underwriters they have a 48 hours turn around. MA advised he'll check it again on Monday but will probably be Tuesday morning and offer will be issued.
