Feel like I can tentatively join this thread! Mortgage applied for with Santander, credit and affordability checks passed on Saturday before last, with a face to face appt to check documents on last Saturday.

It has gone to underwriters as my partner owns his own business so they have to check the accounts but I'm hopeful we will find out soon.

Bag of nerves to be honest!

    Update from me:
    04/08 - Reserved house
08/08 - Agreement in Principle with Halifax for £108k
10/08 - Full Mortgage application submitted with Halifax
11/08 - Hard credit search on my credit report showing
14/08 - Told by mortgage adviser I've passed there initial credit checks and they have instructed valuation
16/08 - Received Help to Buy approval and authority to proceed

Still waiting for news from Halifax as to when the valuation is going to happen. Maybe this experience is going to teach me some patience

    Progress is being made, slowly!
  • Things moving quickly with Coventry BS

    09/08 Meeting with broker
    10/08 Full application with Coventry
14/08 Valuation takes place (it took 1 working day from application to the valuation taking place wow)
15/08 Valuation report matches that what I offered- some roof tiles need to be sorted on property though

The report now goes back to the lender for their own analysis.

Overall its looking good - I am still expecting some speed bumps in the road as I am a sole trader and I am wondering if they will want to see my business model etc - right now they only have my SA302s and bank statements. But as an eBay seller its quite straightforward and I have my evidence ready to rock if asked.

Ok so 2 weeks have passed since putting intial reservation on plot for new build development.

Full application for Mortgage gone in (already have AIP)
HTB application gone in - just waiting on ATP (today or tomorrow)

Developer hadn't even sent documents to solicitors so in terms of things moving forwards... nothing has happened! I have sent reservation form through as developer officed closed today.

It is a good job I have the luxury of nearly 7 week summer holidays as when i am back to work - i would only be able to deal with Mortgage items on an evening!

And they (the developer) have stated they want to exchange contracts within the next 15 days!

Another update from me! This is going quickly!

Valuation has been booked for tomorrow 17/08. Mortgage adviser says still on track to get an offer early next week. That would mean less than 2 week turn around - app to offer!

This doesn't usually happen until the ATP is issued when the 28 day clock starts ticking...

I can finally join this thread, after 12 weeks!! Had to withdraw from an accepted offer on a property to then purchase another one. But I'm finally here.

So NatWest talk to me.... application went in yesterday as advised by my mortgage broker, anyone had any experience with these?

Things will move once ATP for HTB has been issued,,,, you then exchange 28 days after the ATP is received, so don't panic.
Your solicitor will update you with exchange dates once he has received ATP and mortgage offer has been received, you can not have exchange date without the above.
    Don't panic.

Just had an update from my mortgage adviser.
Case has passed initial checks and valuation has been instructed. They've also taken the valuation fee from my bank account.
Is there any truth to the 'Once the valuation is booked you've passed all there credit checks and there happy to give you the mortgage subject to valuation?'

    Cheers

No, unfortunately its still not confirmed until valuation complete and final checks dine.

    good luck
