Just beginning the process - offer accepted yesterday and managed to get a mortgage appointment for tomorrow morning to do the full application. Did have a dip which ran out 2 days ago. Hopefully 2 to 3 weeks?

Since the application was sent in, I haven't heard a thing from Nationwide. Apparently they queried the address on my payslip (a work one, hundreds of miles from my residential address due to relocation). I'm so nervous.

It's been a while since posting on here, having changed our mind on a sale and pulling the house off the market.

We've recently put through our remortgage application which was approved subject to suitable valuation. The surveyor dropped in yesterday and had a wander about for all of about 10 minutes and we waited on the report......that unfortunately came back today as severely down-valued! We had our estimated value before we went to market, and the estate agent valued over that by around 10%. With that in mind, when we applied for the remortgage we dropped that 10% back off. This, it seems, was not enough as the valuation has come back at some 22-23% below that of the estate agent. I find this quite amazing. We have been in the house for 9 years, we had a valuation when we moved in (obviously) which agreed with the purchase price, and this valuation is only £10k above that. Even with the crashes over that time, I'm struggling to believe that is all the price has risen by, so we have gone for broke and raised an appeal.

We have backed this up with sell prices of nearby similar houses from the last 6 months that show that our estimate was actually very reasonable, so we will see where that goes.....admittedly i'm not holding my breath!:(

Congrats to those who got their offers and good luck to those waiting x

Spoke to our broker today, worked out what caused the lower offer (not valuation related) and it looks like the vendor is going to meet us half way. Will get 100% confirmation on Monday.
