toc25 that does seem like a long time. You could call and ask if it could be done sooner? I guess it depends if the delay is with the owner not allowing access, or with the surveyors being busy.

my timeline with Natwest so far:

    12/05 AIP
    16/05 application submitted in branch
17/05 verbal confirmation that affordability etc approved subject to valuation
19/05 money taken for valuation (delay due to advisor noting down card details incorrectly)
    22/05 survey/valuation being done today

I hate the not knowing what's going off it's stressful, I guess the long wait is a combination of valuer and vendor being able to both being able to agree a date. I'm sure it must be more the valuer though as the vendor is very keen to move quickly. I suppose I just need to be patient. :rotfl:

Luckyg- I am thinking/worrying about it at work! Even had a bad dream about it last night! Will be glad when this is all done :(

SHM87- Good luck with your valuation, how soon were you able to use the natwest mortgage tracker? I was expecting it to be live today but its not working for me yet.

@toc25 It is really awful not knowing isn't. As others have suggested, maybe you could call them and ask if theres an earlier date or to fit you in if there is a cancellation?

I know how you feel, I've had 2 weeks of hell so far. Definitely one of the most stressful things I've experienced.
It will all fall into place in the end though (I really should listen to my own advice).

    Third Anniversary
    Hi,

Reading all your posts proves that there is still hope for us!

We found a house, AIP was done 23/04, told it would be 2-3 weeks until we heard anything. We used a mortgage broker. Heard nothing until the 3rd week when they asked for extra documents which made me think our application had been sat on a desk for 2 weeks!! Couple of days later Nationwide had some questions, all answered and were fine on 09/05 Valuation was booked for 23/05, apparently there was a wait due to how busy they were.

Then got a phone call today (day before valuation was due) to say it the underwriters had declined the amount we were asking for. We didn't even know it had gone to the underwriters, should they have told us this?

Mortgage advisor is now going to try a different lender and will hopefully process the app tomorrow! We love the house, FTB and using HTB.

I'm a glass half empty person and my partner is a glass half full type of person! Am i wrong to be thinking if the next app goes to the underwriters it will be declined again?

All mortgage applications go to underwriters, your broker needs to find the right lender for you.
    Good luck
