    Hi Everyone

I have been anxiously watching this forum, and congratulations to all that have received their offers already. My partner and I are first time buyers and are patiently waiting for ours, so I thought I'd share our timeline so far! FYI we applied via a broker for a mortgage with Halifax.

    22nd April 2017 - Plot reservation made
24th April 2017 - Mortgage Broker and Solicitor intstructed
26th April 2017 - Application to HTB for Authority to Proceed made
1st May 2017 - Met with broker and Decision in Principle accepted
3rd May 2017 - HTB asked for amendments to be made to application for Authority to Proceed. Changes made and sent back on same day
9th May 2017 - Authority to Proceed received and Mortgage Application sent via broker. Valuation fee taken
11th May 2017 - Documents reviewed by Halifax and Valuation booked for 18th May

Now were are awaiting the outcome of the valuation and decision from Halifax. Fingers crossed all goes well.

    18th May 2017 - Valuation carried out
    19th May 2017 - Mortgage offer received!

It was 10 days in total from application to offer. We are very happy. We had a fantastic broker and Halifax have given us no issues. :)

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

    Hi there

I have applied with Nationwide too

The only text I received is

"Good news we have reserved the mortgage product you have asked for . We will be in touch as your application progresses "

    Followed by
"we have received your mortgage application. if you are an existing customer switching to a new deal your switch has been accepted "

This was on the 10th of May . Since then nothing.

has anyone else received similar text ?

Please help its stressing me out. We are FTB

So I'm going through Barclays ,

Had my valuation on the 16th - still haven't heard back from bank on this other than to request an additional document regarding a rental property of my partners.

Getting a bit worried as haven't heard back yet :(

Anyone else had a long wait with them?

    Best,
    G

I received the same text as your 2nd one on 8th May just after our application was submitted. A few days later we had a text saying they'd booked a valuation. Valuation was done on 15/5 and not heard anything back yet.
My mortgage broker advises me this is normal in terms of timeframes. I was worried as I'd seen so many people getting offers very soon after the valuation.
I was hoping to hear today but nothing.

Does anyone know if nationwide send texts out on Saturday's?

    Hi Everyone

We are currently waiting for a decision from Halifax.

We made an offer on a property 2 weeks ago, originally with an AIP from Santander however after instructing a mortgage broker we were advised to make our full application with Halifax.
We received a decision in principle from Halifax 8 days ago. Full application was made the next day via our broker. He instructed Halifax not to take payment or book a valuation until the application had gone through underwriting. Halifax came back on Thursday (18th) with an offer subject to valuation. Valuation was booked for the next day (19th). Now currently waiting for the decision from the valuation.
Our broker is hoping for a final decision next week.
