  • 3rd April - got DIP agreed direct with Halifax
8th May - offer accepted on flat
15th May - full application done with Halifax
17th May - email back from mortgage advisor saying everything looks good but need to wait on vendor refreshing his Home Report as it was just over 3 months old.

    Now playing the waiting game.

I feel like I had a fairly easy ride with it. Here's my timeline:

FTB with shared ownership new build property, used a broker, applied to Santander. Complex income make up.

08/03 Viewed property (after being told in October that I wasn't eligible!)
20/03 Full application made, had to send another bank statement later that week
    14/04 Valuation done
    17/04 Mortgage offer received
    19/05 Mortgage completed!

I'm still slightly bemused that it's all happened. The longest wait was whilst it was with the underwriters. My broker said this was because of the make up of my income, and Santander told her that they were running behind at that time because they were exceptionally busy. Move properly on 31/05!

Hi everyone I'm joining you all, can't believe how stressed I am about this all. We applied for our Mortgage yesterday in branch at Natwest it said it was accepted subject to underwriting and valuation. Keeping everything crossed. Going to start my time line.

Just heard back from our broker that valuation was agreed at purchase price. So its now back with the underwriters for signing off. He reckons we should get the formal offer in the next few days

I heard from my broker today also, valuation is fine and has been signed off (although I didn't receive a text from nationwide).
She told me we are just waiting for my proof of gifted deposit to be looked at then should get the offer.
Hopefully within the next day or 2.

    My timeline so far.

    21/04 DIP accepted with Nationwide
    05/05 offer made on house
    05/05 offer accepted
    08/05 full application submitted
    10/05 valuation booked for 15/05
10/05 Marriage certificate requested and scanned to MA
15/05 Text from Nationwide to say they'd received the valuation report
17/05 proof of gifted deposit requested and scanned to MA who then sent it straight to Nationwide.
22/05 heard from broker that valuation is fine and signed off
  • Hi all! I'm having real problems getting a mortgage due to Equifax holding incorrect details for me. Experian have the right details and my report is good. However, Equifax have no details under my current address which is badly affecting my report. I have tried to sort this but they are saying my bank and lenders have given them other addresses for me (including my next door neighbours address) but when I speak to my bank and lenders they confirm they have the correct address details. Equifax say they won't change the details! The mortgage lender will only use Equifax! Anyone had similar issues?

So I have had a text saying valuation is being done on 08/06 (I could cry) was not expecting to have to wait so long. Also the tracker doesn't work for me yet is that normal?

20/5 natwest mortgage app submitted in branch

22/5 money taken for valuation and got text to say being done 8/06

Toc25 - I've gone with Nationwide via a broker so not sure about the NatWest tracker.
That does seem like a long time to wait for the valuation though :( I guess they're busy. The worst part is waiting isn't it. I'm on annual leave at the moment but wish I was in work as I can't concentrate on anything but this.
