I will do a proper timeline tomorrow.

But since the call and the funds pending for the valuation today.

4x hits on both mine and the other halfs credit reports.

3x mortgage quotations, and 1x unrecorded enquiry for the loan amount.

    20/12/13.

The solicitor will ask for it, rather than Nationwide itself...

  • Yay, I got my offer letter through the post, it's good to see it in writing, I'm so excited. :j I'm still amazed it took only 5 days from application to offer via email/text and that's with two of those days being a weekend.
  • 16th November Reserved
    21st November Valuation fee taken
22nd November Mortgage app submitted to Halifax by broker
    25th November HTB ATP received
    11th December Valuation
    13th December Mortgage Offer received

Did have a deadline of 20th Dec to exchange but TW have been slow with contracts so that's now 10th Jan

18th December Contracts arrived with us
Few queries sent back to our solicitor
  • Im playing......!

    My timeline is:
    29 Oct: AIP
    25 Nov: View property
26 Nov: First (ridiculously cheeky!) offer rejected
    29 Nov: Second offer accepted
2 Dec: EA, solicitor and MA start dialogue
4 Dec: all docs submitted to MA for mortgage offer, solicitor search payments made
13 Dec: call from MA for repeat copies of some docs, arrangement fee paid (now realise I will lose thisif mortgage app is declined, balls!)
16 Dec: credit searches completed by BS, letter of notification of valuation instruction

Waiting now for mortgage acceptance and valuation.... Christmas is in the way!!! But Ill survive, staying positive, despite utter anxiety....

Thought I'd add mine in as this thread has been really helpful over the past few weeks as a nervous FTB...

21/11 - offer accepted and DIP received
26/11 - full application went in to Halifax via broker
29/11 - got quotes for full survey - decided to go with HBR
6/12 - HBR booked in for the following Tuesday
    10/12 - valuation/HBR took place
11/12 - broker confirms no problems with valuation and mortgage offer to be sent out
    12/12 - written offer received
    18/12 - HBR received

Need to have a damp and timber survey on the back of the HBR which will probably slow things down a bit (along with solicitors being closed over Christmas) but hoping to exchange in January.
  • Final update!

    23/11/2013 - 1st/2nd viewing
24/11/2013 - Offer made and verbally accepted
26/11/2013 - Offer accepted in writing
30/11/2013 - DIP approval with Nationwide and full application made
02/12/2013 - Solicitor instructed and forms returned
02/12/2013 - Nationwide requested proof of deposit and other supporting documents
11/12/2013 - Nationwide happy with all documents sent in, just waiting on valuation (19/12) for final decision
13/12/2013 - Solicitors confirmed initial drafts received and searches submitted, should get them back before Christmas.
    19/12/2013 - Survey done
20/12/2013 - HBR received via e-mail (all green, no problems), lot of confusion over the valuation but a couple of stern phone calls to Countrywide sorted that out!
20/12/2013 - Text and e-mail saying official offer made and paperwork sent out.

So that's one part done and out the way, just need to get the solicitors sorting everything else out, though nothing will happen until 2nd January now.

    Figure we would post our experience so far;

Already had a AIP with Coventry which were my current lender:

    06/12/13: Property on Market
    07/12/13: Viewing
    07/12/13: Offer Accepted
12/12/13: Mortgage AIP (Different Lender) and full application
13/12/13: Detailes (Payslips / ID etc) Requested
    17/12/13: Own Structural Survey Completed
    20/12/13: Mortgage Valuation Completed
23/12/13: Spoke to Mortgage Company (potential damp and timber survey requested)

It seems our mortgage company (The Chelsea) have gone back to the valuer asking if they are recommending or stating a Damp and Timber survey is needed.

Our Structural Survey has no major issues (flat room on extension which will need replacing soon, recommended independent Gas and Damp checks due to airflow).

Property is vacant and was hoping for a quick exchange but looks like will need a Damp and Timber survey either way!
