    I've been Money Tipped!

Okay - here goes nothing. Will be good to see it typed out I guess in a few months from now.

    28/11 - viewed house
28/11 - AIP given by HSBC
30/11 - 2nd house viewed - already had an offer on, so had to decide where to put offers. Offer put in with request of a quick decision.
2/12 - Offer accepted. Mortgage application completed.
3/12 - Paperwork requested taken to branch

Grrrrrr. Letter received today from HSBC - we need your ID.

Just got off the phone - woman was insistent I took my photo id into the branch. During the phone application I asked if I needed to take my passport into branch AS I HAVE JUST GOT A REMORTGAGE TO HSBC. Application call was clear that it wasn't needed as my passport was clearly on file.

On the phone 10 minutes saying - please check mortgage account number... She had to speak to her supervisor, who verfied that my passport was on file, no I didn't need to take it into the branch and yes, my application would now proceed.

    Hurumph.

Thanks all, I think the key is patience and also balancing that with persistence! Mine took 5 1/2 weeks and towards the end phoned them daily for updates...think they got fed up of me in the end ha

Din85 I'd suggest calling them up and chasing for an update don't be shy about it it's your future :)
  • Valuation today, just got a message saying it was satisfactory and I've got my mortgage offer, it'll be posted out today :j

I applied for my first mortgage today with Nationwide.
    Single first time buyer.

27/11/13 - DIP granted and wage slips submitted
    27/11/13 - 2nd viewing on house
    28/11/13 - 1st offer made and rejected
05/12/13 - Final offer accepted on the house
12/12/13 - Mortgage application made and submitted

As I submitted my wage slips when I got the DIP they've already been verified and what not, which will hopefully speed things up and I had nothing to prove at application stage.

I'm so excited now the ball is well and truly rolling. I'm just hoping the valuation all goes well.

Ok, tried calling the broker today as this is doing my nut !

Apparently, he is away untill Friday :(

This can only mean a few things tbh,...

He may have forgotten to submit the application on friday and has been off since ?
He may have submitted it but they have requested more info, which he won't have seen yet ?

Or it came back very quickly as a straight decline and again he has not seen yet.

Tbh, judging how fast the initial payments have been taken from others with the Halifax I'm assuming the worst.

Hay ho, suppose I will just have to wait and see :(

Finally received hard copy of the offer letter. Looks like all the posts are delayed due to christmas. Rest of things seem to be moving at slower than snails pace.

Right.. spoke to the broker, he said it was all being underwritten and they had all the requested documents etc.

I told him no funds had gone from my account which he agreed was odd as they normally took it with the application.

So he called to get an update.

Well all of a sudden there is exactly £315.00 pending from my account.

    So that's a start.
