Thanks TheFutureisBright.
Il just have to put all my faith the broker for now and see how things go.
Really hope it all works out for you!
Im currently living with my folks whilst I try to save and its a nightmare so I hope you dont have to do the same but it is better than spending money on rent.
Fingers crossed we both get something sorted soon.
Rutsey, sounds like your process is flying along.
This is the slow bit now id imagine.
But going by threads I have been reading on Halifax mortgages, you could know in as little as a week! Good Luck!0 -
I would like to ask ,is someone here went for mortgage with NationWide? How long the process takes in your case ?
I am so nervous,I have my valuation booked for today and I am shaking, hoping everything to go smooth for everyone in this forum .0 -
Why is NatWest taking so long with mine? I applied 12 days ago and the valuation was done 7 days ago but I still have no offer. I'm looking to buy a new-build and only have 15 days left to exchange, but I've still not heard anything! All I keep getting from my broker is it could be any day now.0

AHHHH!!!
O2 have finally removed the default from my credit file.......but theres been no change in my score??
I am soooo confused!!0 -
Hanger,
You may want to contact with the bank and asking for progress ?
NationWide took 1 day to book valuation after they revived my application, if they are so fast to make and offer this week I will be the happiest person in the world 🌎.0 -
From what I've read, the score is just a number, it's the contents that counts so I wouldn't worry too much about that...nice one!!0

Thanks TheFutureisBright.
Just a bit confused as I was convinced that it was the default that was keeping my score so low.
Anyway, fingers crossed, its definitely cant do any harm to have it gone anyway.0 -
I've been reading this for a while so thought I'd share where we're at.
We are desperately trying to get on the property ladder having rented as cheaply as we can (and regretting it with shoddy plumping and difficult landlords) hoping this is the home stretch for us!
Offer accepted: 3rd Feb
Full mortgage application made (Halifax): 4th Feb
Credit checks: 4th Feb
Survey money taken: 4th Feb
Extra info requested: 7th Feb
Homebuyers survey booked: 13th Feb
Survey conducted: 16th Feb
Verbal confirmation of satisfactory valuation: 24th Feb
Verbal confirmation survey report on it's way: 27th Feb
...
waiting... We've had delay after delay following the survey with Halifax saying tomorrow to get the report back for over a week now so v tense wait. Our vendors want to complete ASAP as pressure from chain and 2 buyers before us falling through so fairly tense and out of our control unfortunately.
Still haven't seen our Homebuyer's survey and still no update on mortgage offer... I was so reassured by other people's experience with Halifax that they were fast but our experience has not reflected that in the slightest. V disappointed. Top of the chain are now threatening to withdraw contracts and there is nothing we can do to help our vendors - utterly frustrating0 -
A total of 3 weeks and 2 days after submitting application (including delays due to issues with an incompetent accountant and valuation issues) we finally received our mortgage offer with Nationwide!! :j such a relief and huge weight off our shoulders. Feel like I can finally get excited about moving into our new house0

I got my offer with Nationwide yesterday. Applied on 10th of Feb. But there was a mistake with one of my allowances were the broker put the yearly amount as monthly so that didn't tally with the Payslips so then everything took ages as they asked for single documents and each took 2 working days etc. etc.
Got there in the end though. I wouldn't be afraid to phone and ask nationwide for an update. They are really helpful.0
