This time next week we could all be laughing our way to our new houses!!

    FINGERS CROSSED

    For all of us!
  • I've been reading this for a while so thought I'd share where we're at.

We are desperately trying to get on the property ladder having rented as cheaply as we can (and regretting it with shoddy plumping and difficult landlords) hoping this is the home stretch for us!

    Offer accepted: 3rd Feb
Full mortgage application made (Halifax): 4th Feb
    Credit checks: 4th Feb
    Survey money taken: 4th Feb
    Extra info requested: 7th Feb
    Homebuyers survey booked: 13th Feb
    Survey conducted: 16th Feb
Verbal confirmation of satisfactory valuation: 24th Feb
Verbal confirmation survey report on it's way: 27th Feb
    ...
waiting... We've had delay after delay following the survey with Halifax saying tomorrow to get the report back for over a week now so v tense wait. Our vendors want to complete ASAP as pressure from chain and 2 buyers before us falling through so fairly tense and out of our control unfortunately.

Spoke too soon...turns out the accountant has STILL not completed the form correctly, we will be changing accountants after this fiasco as she is just demonstrating her incompetence to us! In addition to this the valuation has come back 2k under our offer (we already knocked 8k off the asking price) so waiting to see if vendors will reduce price or complete the suggested works :(
We have a fantastic broker but still finding this all very stressful and frustrating!!

So here we are 3 weeks after our application went in...after another weeks delay with the need for a specialist report/quote after issues with valuation we have agreed on a renegotiation on price. Nationwide have informed the broker that we should hopefully have an offer by Thursday unless they require further information :j
I'm still too cautious to instruct the solicitor to start searches etc... she's been waiting patiently but I don't want to spend out any money until we have a formal offer!

I'm on my third week with nationwide. They seem to request documents in a drop fed fashion and take 2 business days each time which amounts to huge delays.

Now they are waiting 2 business days to check the valuation which has come back correct so is just a tick box (I mean can't they have that automated?). THEN it goes to final checks. Patients is but a virtue.

Same here Sahmed660 - request for payslip 23rd Feb, valuation received 23rd Feb and in for checking - this is with natwest - broker says should hear this week....(application in on 16th Feb though)

  • Just got a text saying valuation is ok. All I want is an offer issued...pretty please with sugar on the top?

Knowing my luck they will want Feb payslips

fingers crossed - good news (I got asked for Feb payslips as my Oct and Nov and Dec payslips were all different because my tax was wrong so I think they just wanted extra confirmation on the regular amount - they didn't need hubs - so hoping we both get the offers ASAP
