So Leeds asked husband to provide further proof of identity yesterday as they couldn't electronically verify him? He sent some documents and they called him today to say everything was fine and they needed him to send over a copy of a sole occupancy declaration and they had asked his employer to confirm his employment, salary. Estate agent called to say they had been on to confirm the valuation carried out (we are buying in Scotland and the home report was accepted).
Would they be at this stage if something was going to go wrong?0 -
Hi all
Been following this thread quite a lot as I've been applying for a FTB mortgage with NatWest. My time line is as follows...
01/02 Mortgage AIP granted from £92k at 85% LTV
03/02 First viewing on property
05/02 Second viewing on property and offer made to estate agents
06/02 Offer accepted by vendor
09/02 Full mortgage app submitted through a broker
10/02 Hard search on credit report
13/02 Valuation booked by lender and fees taken
20/02 Valuation takes place
23/02 Formal mortgage offer received in post
When applying for the mortgage I was a bit worried about my credit rating as I had a couple of defaults in 2013, and have only recently cleared off the last of my balance transfer credit cards in December.
Seems like it's been a quick timescale, hope this helps others going through the NatWest application process.0 -
2 weeks since application to Nationwide today and no offer. Gave them a call and she said if no more documents are required then by the end of next week seems realistic. Sigh0

Howdy everyone,
Been reading all these threads for weeks (feels like months), which isnt helping my productivity at work!
Anyway, I have finally got my offer accepted on a house and am meeting with the Bank of Ireland UK later today to sign off on my application and have it submitted.
Also meeting with a broker on Monday who will be submitting an application to Halifax for me.
Has anyone dealt with Halifax in Northern Ireland recently or know what their timescales are like at the minute?
Havent even put the application in yet but already Im wondering how long it will take from application to offer.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks.0 -
My application went off last Friday with Halifax and I got my offer yesterday!0

Thanks Ceminem! Thats very quick!
Are you based in England or Northern Ireland?
What LTV was yours for?
Is your credit rating very good, etc??
Mine is a LTV 90%, house is 110K, putting down 11k deposit so hoping to borrow 99k.0
