  • ugh thats pants - what will you do now?

    SLM

Broker has sent me a new mortgage quote for another bank which is a good bit cheaper.

Will give her a phone call and discuss.
  • We are waiting for the decision from Virgin Money.
Husband has excellent credit score, mine - is not so good. Nationwide gave us a DIP but reduced the sum after checking affordability (because of nursery payments). Virgin did almost all checks, including affordability and valuation. Our adviser told us that they are checking my work - I was self employed for few years earning almost nothing. Started to work full time this October. Salary was very small for first 3 months, but I have permanent contract from January with good payslip... It is so difficult to wait. :(
They should give an answer tomorrow or Monday.

Officially joined this thread. Applied to Leeds for a 68% LTV. Been wanting to say that for ages!

Although it's bitter sweet as I've applied for my husbands mortgage (he just signed the documents) and when it completes (thinking positively) he will live in the house we picked together, alone! I wish him all the best and I'm excited for him, but a little sad too.
  • Just submitted my application today for a mortgage through London & Country. Here are my details;

Deposit from sale of property - £202,995
    House Purchase Price - £286,995
    LTV - 29.3%

I have 3 credit cards and a loan, all of which will be paid off by completion from the sale of my property. No missed payments, no defaults on my credit file. The monthly payment for the mortgage is less than my combined monthly payments for the loan and minimum credit card payments!

Mortgage is with NatWest - 5 Year Fixed rate at 2.13%

I'll keep you all updated and let you know what happens.

Anyone had a mortgage broker submit mortgage application before Help to Buy equity loan authority to proceed being received?
  • yes we had an app put in before the help to buy, I assume if the broker has passed your affordability I couldn't see why the help to buy would fail. As they only check the mortgage affordability.

    I may be mistaken tho,

Our mortgage broker did the mortgage application before the ATP was received. Got the ATP now just waiting on a mortgage :(
  • Nationwide say it takes up to two weeks to arrange a valuation after application but both times round for us it has been organised within 2/3 days. Don't know if that's just luck, or good surveyor availability!

Valuation is today at 11am so fingers crossed we will hear something soon..

Just had the mortgage offer text! So less than 4 working days from application to offer :T
