Just found out that this is the case due to MB putting my annual car allowance as monthly. Hopefully now that it's corrected it will be fine? Not sure how angry I should be just now hah

Should go through for you now hopefully, keep the fingers crossed

    Nellie,

Its a nightmare isn't it! My partner is away for two weeks so I am just praying it comes back in plenty of time. It will give her a nice surprise on her return.

after reading as many threads and this thread as I can, there does not seem to be any pattern at all to timescales, what they ask for, why they ask for it, survey decisions and all the rest.

I have resigned myself not to worry and just accept i am bottom of pile now also haha!!
  • I am also with NatWest, had quite a positive experience so far..

07/02/17 - AIP confirmed and accepted.
    08/02/17 - Application put forward.
09/02/17 - Hard checks completed and survey booked.
10/02/17 - More details given and sent.
14/02/17 - All actions completed, await survey.
    15/02/17 - Survey completed.

Maybe I have been lucky as everything has pretty much been sorted and done in this 7 days. Now awaiting (praying for) mortgage offer.
    Hope my timeline helps!

Been reading this forum for the last couple of weeks so decided to join in with my own update.

Mortgage application through a broken for Nationwide FTB HTB:

    DIP: 02/02/2017 granted without referral
    Full application: 10/02/2017
    Valuation booked: 13/02/2017

I'm hoping I get a valuation successful email and mortgage accepted email today some time, but that's probably wishful thinking :)

When I phone nationwide they said there is a 2 day delay in checking documents. They've only asked for 3 month's payslips so far. Hopefully it's a fairly simple case and goes through fine....one can always hope!!

Good luck to everyone else in this thread!

Apparently the decision for now is a 'managed decline' due to affordability. I should know more about what options there are in a couple of days. Was hoping things would be simple, but at least it's not an outright decline.

I just thought affordability was assessed at the DIP stage!

Help to buy authority to proceed has been issued today.

Should find out about the 'managed decline' tomorrow. Hopefully all will go well..fingers crossed

That's a very fast turn around time indeed :j

I'm going through natwest and they had my full application late Monday so probably did not pick it up until Tuesday hopefully will hear something by end of the week, if I'm lucky

I have a broker who I have been shamelessly harassing, as well as checking my Mortgage Tracker and ringing NatWest so this has helped-think they'll be glad to see the back of me! If you don't have the online tracker I would 100% suggest this as its been really helpful for me.

Wishing you the best of luck, it can be so frustrating when you don't know what's happening!

Called my broker 5 times today to ask something and got the answer machine. Then I remembered it's her day off on Wednesday :o

We are finally making progress! After 8 days of phone calls from our mortgage broker, and a very curt email from me, our accountant finally sent back the requested information to Nationwide. I've had an update today from MB to say nationwide have all the information to hand, valuation has been done and it is now under review. We should hear about an offer in next few days so fingers crossed for good news!
  • Joining in on this one - we are on our second application to Nationwide (first cancelled after valuation led us to pull out of purchase) so here's where we are:

    13/02 DIP requested and accepted
13/02 Full application completed and 1 month's payslips sent
    14/02 Valuation booked for 16/02
14/02 Bank statements (linked from previous app) and Payslips awaiting approval

So just waiting now to see how valuation goes tomorrow - happy so far as has been really smooth process and they have been really responsive so fingers crossed!

I sometimes wonder when these MB and accounts etc. have such a nonchalant approach to things.

They need to understand that when someone is putting a mortgage application in that that is their life for those few weeks!
