I panicked before applying and closed the cards i was using for expenses (we sound very similar haha), regretted it in a lonnnng january :rotfl:

Yeah speaking to the mortgage broker (its Newhomes, just went with what the housebuilder recommended, might be more expensive but they have been good) he just said your documentation proves what you have put on the application, infact better as partner earns a little more per month, so he said hes confident and not worry.

But as we all are the same on this thread, its nice to reach out for false comfort haha!!

but cetainley a hard search as it now has me and partner financially linked which it didnt before.
  • Application went in with halifax on the 12th, full credit check on both of us same day
Wanted reference from contractor about my earnings on the 18th
Partners earning requests extra proof on the 28th
Broker called today saying all accepted on our part just waiting on valuation as they are struggling to get in touch with vendors estate agent as online based and do not answer

    Welcome :)

I am Natwest and Full application yesterday.

Our search fees come out yesterday aswell.

Did you go through a broker, as the hard credit searches were done at AIP for us?

    all the best
  • Hi

We've had about the same timeline as you, they have requested 12 months wageslips from my partner as he works in sales so I think they are trying to average out his wages for the year. I have heard from an estate agent and a friend that NatWest can be quite slow. We've gone with them because of their criterias so I guess I just have to wait it out 🙁 Have you heard back from them yet? Iv been trying to get an idea of pace for the last couple of weeks.
  • Hi!

JoeT88 - we did go through a broker and yes hard searches already done so not too concerned about that. Search fees? Do you mean with the solicitor, as we have instructed but not paid search fees yet as the vendor hasn't found a house yet...ugh!

Jaspercat - I have heard the complete opposite that Natwest are quick! My mum recently remortgaged with them and it was painless.... My partner has a basic salary and then does quite a lot of overtime so I am expecting to be asked for more wage slips for him aswell!

I am just going to be checking my bank to see if valuation fee comes out! :)
  • Our survey is booked in for tomorrow, hopefully this means our application is progressing through nicely.

    Sorry I meant valuation fee.

Valuation survey has been booked for this Monday, suppose this is a good sign ?
  • Oh wow that was quick!!! Nothing so far frantically checking bank account!!

TAKE MY MONEY NATWEST PLEASE! :)

Broker did say it would take 48 hours for U/W to look at application but valuation would be instructed straight away but I still think it's a good sign!

    Good luck!!
