Ours was with natwest too. It took an excruciating almost 3 weeks from fee being taken and valuation instructed to getting mortgage offer (was wrongly declined but we won appeal and underwriters approved eventually). Got it in the end though!
Good luck0 -
Can I join in!!!
So we are buying 30% s/o newbuild and just waiting for Leeds to give us a decision.
14/4 AIP approved
15/4 paid reservation fee to HA
20/4 memorandum of sale finally sent to MB. After a week of chasing.
21/4 application to Leeds submitted and fees taken.
25/4 email from MB to ask for gift deposit letter and to say application had been submitted (not sure why after it had been done 21/4)
MB said they would chase Friday!
We have exchange date of 18th May.
Anyone help calm my nerves with Leeds. Would they have asked for more documents by now?0 -
Had my mortgage appt today with Halifax. Took about an hour and 15 mins? Halifax's rates went up on Monday so unfortunately I will be paying £15 more than expected each month! They do however have a 1% cash back offer on, so will get a cheque after completion for 1% of the amount I'm borrowing.
I was surprised by how little information was needed - I was asked for one payslip and nothing else! Not even bank statements? Survey is being carried out by end of next week hopefully, and MA said mortgage offer should come in a few days later. Almost sounds too good to be true...0 -

There's a recent post that for 1 in 12 applications, at random, they do a thorough check, eg ask for the full info even after the offer . But it's random and not aimed at your circumstances so don't panic if there is a follow up asking for lots of documents.0 -

We are with Nationwide. They sent a text this morning saying they have received the valuation report and are reviewing it. I'm a nervous FTB!
Text from Nationwide today saying they have issued a mortgage offer! No idea what this means or if its formal or what?! Hoping something comes through the post soon!

AIP April 8th valuation booked on the 15th valuation unsure what properties construction is although we're 99% sure it's block. Today we've been told by our MA that the bank will lend us the amount we need subject to a structural engineer report.
So in one sentence great news looks like we've past all the checks on the other hand hope the report comes back ok.
Quick question do you think the valuer will have told the bank it's worth what we're paying but because he's unsure about construction we have to get a engineer to confirm?
Yesssssssss We have been approved!!! Mortgage offer will be in the post in 48 hours:rotfl:
Engineers report came back that house was made from clinker block but everything is structually sound. So we have our mortgage were overwhelmed. .0
