Mortgage offer received!!! So relieved0
-
Virgin Money as lenders.
Timeline:
13/4/16 : Offer accepted
14/4/16 : DIP submitted
16/4/16: Full application made
20-25/04/16: More documents requested overtime.
26/4/16: Valuation requested and letter received from Connells [valuers] to say they have arranged valuation for 04/05/16.0 -
After our last house fell through we've had an offer accepted today on a very different property. Original lender won't cover the increased amount so broker has recommended RBS. The wait begins again!0

Just heard Connells did the valuation on mine today for HSBC, while they were supposed to do it tomorrow. Will be heading into branch on Friday to see if they have anything about the valuation on their system, shame it's a bank holiday weekend.
Also got news from my broker that he actually hadn't cancelled a previous Santander application and they are actually ready to offer me a mortgage, provided I update them with my latest payslip, though it is for over 9 grand under what I had hoped to get (Santander have some weird lending criteria on EURO income). Still workable for me, though it will leave me with less money to spend on the house, so if HSBC falls through, I have a backup plan in place0 -
So glad (and nervous) I can now post in this thread!!
Here is our timeline
15/04/2016: DIP sorted
18/04/2016: Offer accepted
26/04/2016: Full mortgage application submitted
And we got a text from Nationwide yesterday to say the valuation is booked in for 04/05/2016, which was sorted a lot quicker than I thought it would.
Just a nervous waiting game now!0 -
Timeline
DIP 05/04/16
Offer Accepted 12/04/16
Full Mortgage Application Submitted 15/04/16
Survey/Valuation 27/04/16
We are with Nationwide. They sent a text this morning saying they have received the valuation report and are reviewing it. I'm a nervous FTB!0 -

27/4 - Email from Nationwide to say application has been received
Hate this waiting game such a stressful time! Good luck to all0 -
Anxiously waiting still!
18th April: offer accepted on the house
21st April: sent documents to broker
26th April: further documents requested by broker
27th April: application submitted finally!
28th April: valuation and admin fee taken by Natwest.
My broker/Natwest have not contacted me at all is the valuation fee being taken a good sign? Anyone else with natwest advise me how long it took after the fee was taken?0 -
We are with different bank, but our fee was taken on 19th of April but nothing has been done yet! felling so stressed now as going on holiday tomorrow and have to move out on 27th from our current house!!!***Twins mummy***0

03/10 - view house, love it. Decide to act quickly and put offer in but by that time Estate Agents had closed.
05/10 - Monday morning, call and in the 2 hours between seeing the house and the estate agents closing, an offer had been put in and accepted! Bear in mind the property had been on the market for months. We put in an offer anyway and in the end the seller accepts ours!
19/10 - Mortgage offer approved via L&C with NatWest. The our MA is off sick for nearly 2 weeks which we didn't realise, stalling everything.
03/11 - Major stumbling block - my wife owns a flat with her sister which was rented but not on a buy-to-let mortgage. Her sister was in the process of buying her out, so MA spoke to NatWest initially and decided not to include it in affordability. However it seems we now need to provide confirmation that my wife's name is no longer on that mortgage before we can proceed. Goalposts officially moved. Cut to.....
16/02 - Finally my sister-in-law completes on the flat and my wife no longer owns it.
25/02 - We finally get the letter to L&C / Natwest confirming her name is not on the mortgage. Mortgage approved subject to valuation (however we thought we were at this stage last time)
30/03 - after a lot of faffing around and submitting new statements, mortgage offer rejected. Appealed, then after many more days, confirmed as rejected. L&C put in complaint blah blah blah.
31/03 - tell estate agent it's all fell apart- they recommend their in-house mortgage broker.
01/04 - see broker. Offer agreed online that day. Paid him £300.
02/04 - broker advises valuation instructed (bearing in mind it is a Saturday)
12/04 - valuation done, all OK
22/04 - complete, exchange and we have our new house!
MORAL OF THE STORY, USE A SMALLER BROKER WHO ACTUALLY CHASES THINGS THROUGH. LONDON & COUNTRY DROVE US MAD!!0
