Could ask your MA if he can advise another lender, some only ask for 1 month's worth of bank statements...0

No other lenders will touch me. Default registered in 2015 for a stupid phone bill that EE won't budge on despite having a repayment plan in place. I'm in pieces. I've ruined everything for our little family.Credit score slowly improving!0

Don't worry about the default, clear or ASAP then you can apply to someone like Halifax In the future.0

Absolutely nothing wrong with my April bank statement, hoping they'll accept that, May and June and let us re-apply in July. Got to get the vendors builders to agree also.
And they wonder why more and more people rent.Credit score slowly improving!0 -
18/04 Started application, initial credit check and received DIP
18/04 Further personal details requested via the online system, filled in
same day.
19/04 Application picked up, full credit check carried out
21/04 (AM) Confirmation I passed credit check. Requested to provide details for solicitors, direct debit and valuation. Requested payslips and bank statements for 3 months. Had to phone them to ask if online statements were ok, at which point they told me I had to go in branch for an ID check and that I would be receiving a statement I would have to sign and return in the next few days to confirm I am happy to proceed without full mortgage advice.
21/04 (PM) Popped into my local branch for the ID check and submitted all the requested documents. Also included a few documents I suspected they would request later down the line, to save time and hassle. A few hours later the status on the online system has changed to 'Decision obtained' and 'Application under review' with the comments stating they are awaiting receipt of my submitted documents to confirm my income, but it sounds to me that if those are in line with what I filled in during my application, the mortgage offer is as good as approved.
Update:
22/04 Surveyor appointed for valuation, they called the developer and lined up for next Thursday 28/04, crossing my fingers for an offer a few days later... Only found out as I popped round the sales office today and they mentioned it, hadn't had a date directly from HSBC, but as said before, the information on their online tracking system is limited. Good thing I did pop in as the site staff thought the valuation was for another plot and they would have shown them a semi, instead of my detached house :P They already thought it was weird they had a valuation coming for a plot that already has a mortgage ^^ HSBC go by official address and not plot number, so the street number of my plot is 26, while the plot number is 25, the site staff was gearing up to show a surveyor round plot 260 -
Hi all, room for one more to join the awaiting mortgage decision party!?
I got a DIP with Halifax on 6th March. I had an offer accepted on a property on 22nd April. Got my full mortgage application appt booked for 28th April.
I'm a bit scared - i'm a single first time buyer on a fixed term contract (Halifax are aware of this - I still meet their criteria as i've been in the same industry for 2+ years, plus I've been informed my contract is being made permanent in the next few weeks!) and have been advised that my application will likely go to underwriters. I have a good credit score - never had a default, no pay day loans or anything like that, but up until a few months ago I was dipping into my overdraft occasionally (only by about £30 at the most) right at the end of the month. On the plus side, I have a good LTV (about 68% due to my high deposit) and am in a decent job.
I'm aware that I need to take bank statements along on Thursday - does anyone know why the banks need them and what they'll be looking for? I've been living pretty much rent free with my parents for some time now, and as of late i've been doing quite a bit of home shopping and stocking up on good quality clothes that will last me a few years as I won't have the luxury of buying things like that regularly when I have my own mortgage. As i'm living with my parents and do a lot of overtime, i'm nowhere near going into my overdraft - I have been using my credit card but only to boost my credit score up. I'm just paranoid that i'll be judged for such spending!? A few retail stores and homeware shops etc appear on my bank statements and i'm worried the bank will think i'm some sort of shopaholic that can't be trusted with a mortgage!0 -
Room for another? OH and myself had dip, found a property and had offer accepted on 8/4/16 valuation took place on 19/4/16 now the nervous wait begins0

Hi, I wonder if I can join you? I've been reading this thread with fear and trepidation as it all seems like such a luck of the draw kind of thing.
This is where we are up to so far:
Mon 4/04: Offer accepted on property
Sat 9/04: Mortgage application, and paperwork, submitted through broker. (to natwest)
Thurs 14/04: MA calls to say we need to send more documentation and the bank has lowered offer amount to £500 under what was asked for. Further documents sent.
Wed 20/04: MA calls again to advise the underwriter has lowered the amount offered even further by over £7000! No explanation given as to why, so I ask her to chase up an explanation.
Wed 20/04 (later in a very long day!): MA calls back to say the original mortgage amount applied for has now been agreed by the underwriter and valuation on property booked for tomorrow. Still have no explanation as to what happened here.
Thurs 21/04: Valuation being carried out on property.
Tues 26/04 (today): We are currently still waiting for an official mortgage offer of any sort and report back from the valuation. I have heard nothing since the final phone call last Wednesday afternoon so I am getting more and more nervous.
Because of all the back and forth on the amount they will offer, I am still so worried something else could go wrong. Crossing everything that we hear back in the next couple of days with the formal and official offer.
In the mean time we have had all the land searches and paperwork back from the solicitors and that side of things is moving along very quickly.
crossing fingers for everyone here, including me!0 -

Start my time line.
2nd Feb - DIP from Halifax
17th Feb - See house for the first time
18th Feb - STC with another offer
30th March - Offer falls through and our offer on another house not accepted
2nd April - both view again
4th April - make offer of full asking price
7th April - start application process with Halifax (but due to DH work payslip issues put off to ensure everything is in place before app starts)
13th April - App done with Halifax - accepted and valuation fee paid. Will be instructed shortly!
Fingers crossed as the poor bloke we are buying off has been messed about for 5 weeks before we offered.
Hi all valuation was done on 22nd April and looks like Halifax are happy with it so hoping for an offer shortly! Now booking in HomeBuyer Report Survey.... really nervous now though....

Our valuation is today, so nervous! I have had a look at what other 3 bed properties have been selling for nearby and most seem to to be at least 10k more than our offer price although they look slightly bigger. Worried as we have offered 8k over the guide price, although we are in the SE so I think this is quite common. Halifax seem to be quite quick so hoping we don't have to wait too long!0
