Ours with Halifax was approved the day after the valuation via the broker, got the offer in the post a couple of days later
  • Ours was submitted last Friday, checked equifax and Natwest have done a second credit search yesterday. No idea how long it'sall going to take but I'm panicking thatwe're going to be declined :(
  • Very similar to us kit155 our broker applied to natwest, offer accepted on 7/4/16 mortgage application submitted, more paperwork requested, valuation took place on 19/04/16 and now just waiting to see what happens!!!

So nervous :o not sure how long we now have to wait. Good luck, let us know how you get on

Broker came back to us yesterday, saying that documents are checked and they are not requested any additional documents (I think I heard this before already....) and now our application is in the queue to underwriters....oh Gosh this takes so long...and also valuation hasn't been done, as there was an issue with the system..it should have been done on 19th of April....this makes me mad...probably there wasn't any issues, just nobody has done nothing.....now valuation instructed once again. Not very positive news so far.... I am going on holiday this Thursday, what kind of documents they can request? we have submitted 3 payslips, 3 month bank statements, credit agreements, credit card statements, id's , p60, proof of deposit is our bank statement and also many form signed....Just don't want to be delayed if they will request something while on holiday....

Oh so, Panicky Buyer, you've been waiting well over a week for any news after the valuation? I was hoping we would have something within the 72 working hours, so by today at the latest.

Did your Broker say whether or not Natwest had OK-ed the credit checks and mortgage amount before booking the valuation? I think that is how they do it but I'm really worried that any 'final checks' will start throwing up more questions and issues as I don't trust it all to go through until I have an official offer in writing.

We are exactly the month around from putting our offer in today. We have no rush to move but I am so anxious about the mortgage decision as we were told from the beginning that we were 'borderline', so I'd like that answer before I work my way through the mounds of paperwork sent over by the solicitors on Monday.

    Hi everyone!

I thought I'd join in and share our timeline...

16/3/16 - decision in principle from Halifax
    24/3/16 - viewed property
    31/3/16 - offer accepted
2/4/16 - mortgage application appointment at Halifax - application approved at the appointment and was not progressing to underwriter etc all to be done was an updated home report (we are in Scotland and home report is only valid for 3 months)
19/4/16 - Halifax emailed to say home report was fully refreshed and full mortgage offer had been issued

We had an appointment at Halifax today to go over Buildings and Contents insurance followed by an appointment with our solicitor for us to sign a Help to Buy ISA declaration and for him to tell us them and the sellers solicitors are on track for us to get the keys on 6th May - not long!! :-)
  • Hi kit 155 we were also borderline and knew it had to go to the underwriters. I know we were searched by natwest on 16.4.16 but just soft search on Experian. We had to re-submit bank statements as when I printed them our names were not clear so that has held us up. I'm trying not to get too caught up in their ordering as I dear not hope we might actually get our mortgage due to disappointment of we don't!! The broker emailed us on 22.4.16 to say the valuation had taken place on 19.04.16 so I am just waiting for what happens next. The solicitors have had all our documentation for deposit and to my knowledge have started their sea he's but have no clue with natwest their ordering of the process!! We have 15% deposit and our mortgage payments will be £300 less than our rent so hoping that this helps. Good luck keep us updated
