Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

Hi guys, I've read the whole of this thread in the past few days. My partner and I are currently nervously awaiting our mortgage offer. Here's our time line:
31st January, saw a new build we liked and put in an offer which was accepted. We also had our Aip with Natwest ( via a broker).
2nd February our help to buy application was accepted.
4th February our full mortgage application was submitted via broker.
9th February extra details requested from Natwest and received the same day.
My partner is a cool headed guy and "whatever will be will be"... But I'm a wreck ( I'm not usually, we're both very rational people), but this mortgage application is stressing me out, I just need to know positive or negative quickly 🙈 . Sorry to rant, I wish you all a swift mortgage application0 -
Hi Reason15!
Good luck with your app. I'm rather neurotic about it all and my partner is very calm, too. If feel sorry for him just now, I'm a bit of a nightmare...!0 -
Here is my Nationwide timeline so far:
29/01: Apply online - DIP accept
01/02: Offer accepted on purchase, full app submitted, requested docs sent 1st class recorded - 3 months payslips each, and a bank statement and mortgage statement for my Wife's BTL with here mum.
02/02: Check case online for docs being received, all marked as received except Mortgage statement for BTL. Phone up to confirm and told not received, get somebody to go through docs who finds it and marks as received. Valuation booked for 02/03.
03/02: Valuation carried out, online case changes to bank statement required for BTL. Phone up, asked why address different for BTL bank statement, confirm this is wife's Mums address. Also on this day have the property I'm selling slightly down valued, call up to amend amount, told this will take up to 72 hours.
04/02: Valuation report updates online, advises of flooding. Paylsips for wife also now showing again as required. Phone up and I'm asked to go back to vendor and confirm if property ever flooded and if not get them to confirm in writing. Also asked why wife's payslip's is different, confirm why, As agent to get vendor to confirm relevant info. Later that day docs required online change again, call up and am asked to confirm if the property will be a 2nd home as wife has BTL, confirm that if they say it is, then it is and that this was all confirmed on app hence why they asked for mortgage statement etc etc.
05/02: Emailed and asked to choose new product as LTV has changed to due slight increase in amount, email back. Doc requirements change online again. Call up and asked why wifes middle name not on all docs, asked to send proof of ID, also asked to both provide one months bank statement.
08/02: Go into branch at 9am and get them to send ID, bank statements and marriage cert for good measure. I then get an email to say they cant lend due to property not being suitable security, call to clarify as had not at this point supplied previously requested info from vendor, told to send this anyway, also advised them I had just been into branch to send them docs. Cue mad panic about property not being suitable and us having to completely reassess our plans, lots of frantic googleing about flooding, local planning recent sales etc etc
09/02: 24 hours pass, no update online, call to chase, person I speak to says that property has been declined as not suitable security, reads out reason why - completely the wrong valuation report, an error was made by the person who emailed on Monday who had mixed up valuations, was told it would be looked at asap, also clarified that my docs sent by branch HAD been received
10/02: Still no update or change online, phone up again, told that they are still awaiting docs (id bank statements etc) Also asked, again, why wife's address different to BTL, reconfirmed this and confirmed had answered this last week. Also confirmed that person yesterday had confirmed docs received. They look through case only to confirm they do have the docs but thy haven't been marked as received. Told at this point that case will be put in front of a senior underwriter in next 24 hours... we will see!
As you can see, with Nationiwde its either the sublime, or the ridiculous!0 -
We had our mortgage offer through yesterday
Seemed pretty straight forward than everyone elses.
Once the valuation was done & we agreed a new buying price the offer was sent the next day.
Bit confused about the deal we are on though. We agreed with the broker a 2 year fixed at 3.59%, but we actually got a 1yr 3 month fixed (starts 16th march 2016 & ends june 2017) at 2.59%. Not complaining about the cheaper monthly payments though.0 -
Hello again !!!
No offer yet from Kent Reliance -
Tomorrow is completeling a month that we saw the property 😳😳😳 4 weeks ongoing !
They keep on enquiring about my payslip details ( I am a nurse) eg : yesterday the underwritter wanted to know why I had 1 day unpaid leave in January . So I explained.
Half of the valuation money has been taken from my account but the valuation hasn't been done yet .
The vendor is moving out this weekend and wanted to know where we stand . I am terrified that if it falls through he has to start all over again
I didn't sleep well last night- My husband also is very chilled is in no rush or worry but I can't help being so anxious!
Wishing you all a gooday !0 -
Just received confirmation from my broker that Natwest are approving our application and the only thing now is for the home report to be refreshed as its just over 3 months old. Its taken a week from dip, to full app to now being told its been approved. Delighted with our broker and Natwest!0

MA called me Tuesday saying Lender wouldn't approve mortgage while I have my car loan (£3,000)
I called them back Wednesday and confirmed this will be paid off by completion, he assured me that this was the lenders only query left.
They will then take another 4 working days to assess again..... It's been 3 months next week since I reserved the house0 -
Grrr.
Took all the paperwork and 'starter pack' into the solicitors by hand and watched them photocopy it on 5/2.
Got a phone call from EAs yesterday asking when I was sending the starter pack back to the solicitors.
I said I had
They said the solicitors had not received it.
I explained I had taken it in by hand
Oh, are you sure?
Yes! I was there! It was me! I did it!
Can you ring them and make sure (cos I am obv a liar)
So I rang the solicitors.
Sorry we have not received it
Explained the impossibility of this and described their office and their receptionist and their car park. I know, you see, I was THERE.
Oh.
Can we ring you back?
20 minutes later, Yes! you are on the system, the searches have been requested, it is all doing what it is supposed to be doing. We just couldn't find your file.
So had to ring the EA back.
They had left for the day (at 4pm)
Survey arranged for Tues 16th
This morning got a call from the MA - who had told us we would pass the affordability easily and could borrow up to 136k on a 48k salary - we only wanted 120k (75%LTV),
well, this morning Accord will only lend us £118,600 and she asked could we possibly stump up another £1,400.
Yes we can, it is fine, but what a strange arbitrary amount to suddenly decide, on affordability, that they would lend us £118,600 but not £120,000, over 25 years.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Seems I can stop stressing a little, just had an email from the MA to say that the surveyors have been booked for Monday, which is all Natwest need to issue our offer. How exciting
Oh gosh Foxholes, other people's incompetence is not what you need when going through a process like this.0
