  • Omg the wait is killing me! Awaiting decision via Leeds bs, full application went in on the 29th Jan, and they have asked today for some evidence of rental payments from Jan last year to present. Arrhhhh I just want an answer I'm so impatient. Viewed the house on 24th Jan but seems like ages ago, I suppose in the scheme of things it's only a few weeks ago. Need to be out of my rental property before the end of April so fingers crossed!

And in a further display of ineptitude, the solicitors have lost my cheque for the searches. As if misplacing the starter pack wasn't enough. So I paid by bank transfer.

They are very quick at replying to any questions by email and seem to be getting the job done, but the fiasco at the beginning means I am less relaxed about this than I would like to be.

  • Waiting for the third mortgage offer in 3 weeks. First mortgage was processed as non HTB in error by Santander. This was then quickly fixed by Santander with new offer out in 48 hours. Now HTB have changed the rules without notifying anybody regarding porting of a existing mortgage deal. So broker has submitted new application which is 100% HTB product which means a ERC fee on our existing mortgage. We're supposed to be completing this Friday so race against time!!!

Seems all the issues are with people who have gone through Nationwide...If I'd come onto this forum before applying for our mortgage I definitley would have gone with another bank/building society!

I have to say NW were really quite helpful. My partner ended up going to them direct in the end just to find out what was happening. My problem was my broker not necessarily passing over what NW were saying. She said we were just waiting on the offer getting reissued, but NW told us he home report actually had the wrong address and were waiting on that getting retyped...

I changed job at the start of the month too, so it's been a rough month so far...!
  • My problems with Nationwide continue, despite their errors and the fact it was now with their complaints etc, I called for an update this morning as the doc requirements changed back to needing one regarding flooding.

They told me they still needed the letter from the Vendor, as well as proof of name and address for my wife. I have provided all of this more than once already (and been told they have it more than once also)

I feel like they are now doing it just to wind me up, its that bad.

Just had an email from the MA (after I mailed her yesterday) I should have a decision by Friday as long as 'everything goes along as it should'. Whatever that means. So the timeline with Accord so far has been

    21/1 Viewed house
21/1 Offered on house and offer accepted
26/1 and 30/1 Mortgage Advisor appointments
    1/2 Solicitors instructed
    1/2 Mortgage Application went in
11/2 Amount offered reduced on affordability from £120,000 to 118,600 over 25 years
15/2 Draft contracts sent from solicitor
Threat of a Possible Mortgage by 19th!!
Well we shall wait and see, shall we?

Hello! Still waiting... I *think* the Halifax valuation happened yesterday or Wed, her my broker won't reply to emails...

Can't believe we had an offer accepted and DIP on Dec 18!

Praying everything is okay and the solicitors aren't totally unbearable...

Hello! The valuation report arrived yesterday and has been approved to lend on! It did say there were concerns on the gas installation (many NI properties which are older styles have only recently been converted) but the vendor has promised to take care of that!

So when that's all sorted, we will instruct solicitors and hopefully the mortgage offer will follow!
  • Well third mortgage offer received within a few hours of being submitted, then faxed over to solicitors who have sent to HTB. Must say well impressed with Santander. All being well we'll be in our new house on Friday
  • There is light at the end of the tunnel yet guys.

Had our formal offer from nationwide now after much the same run around as Berger. So hold in there!
