We're buying in Scotland, so there is not always a valuation carried out. Our valuation is based on the home report, so I am fairly certain the home report is in relation to the property and that it is all correct and it's just a typo. (Never mind that there is no number 9 on my street haha!)

It's terrible finding these things out on a weekend; it feels like you lose days just waiting on everyone opening up again.

My broker has just got back to me. NW are treating it as a material change, so it'll be a few days for a new offer...

Still waiting for DIP check to be done here - with Halifax. MA said he would put it through today but not heard anything. Also haven't seen anything pop up on my credit report. Said he wanted to call to speak to them first as I've got previous defaults (2 about to fall off, one left) but he was hopeful. So that's the stage I'm at and I'm dying already!!!

I do wonder though, if that check did get passed what's the point in it if I could be rejected at the final stage... :( x

Everything was going smoothly until Nationwide decided to send us our mortgage offer with the wrong postcode, they put an 'E' instead of an 'F'.

They now have to check the amendment and then re-issue the offer. :(
  • MA confirmed Melton had given my application to an underwriter yesterday and there current turnaround time is 5 working days :)
Anyone know how they work? will they instruct a valuation after this or before?

Haha I wonder if we had the same underwriter!

Ahh Jones, I was catching up on your posts and got so excited when I read the one about having chased it up! Fingers crossed this is a straightforward correction.

I've just spent the morning chasing up documents. Turns out an employment reference wasn't addressed to my OH's director (we suspect only HR can fill it out anyway) and was left sitting anonymously on a random desk... He says I nag him too much, I was convinced it had gone astray!

Fingers crossed we can get this over the line... Hard checks completed on us both but there's still this outstanding so not counting anything yet...
  • Can I join the wait. I had my full meeting last Wednesday and passed the credit check etc. I posted my statements and passport off on Thursday as the forms came straight away.

I tried calling today to see if I needed to pay the fee's yet, as I didn't have a cheque book to include a cheque. They said they haven't received the paperwork yet though. Hopefully it is just stuck in their mail department somewhere though. I had hoped they would be able to sort out the survey for this week as well, but I guess I'm just being impatient as I'm in a hurry.

Our valuation was booked the day after our full mortgage application for the following week, so the valuation was done whilst the application was with the underwriters. That way they can issue your formal offer if they are happy with the valuation report.

Can anyone answer a quick question to settle an argument between me and my other half?

The Halifax dip check we are waiting on - if this comes back as accepted there is still another credit check to go through right? Because he's insisting this is the only one but I've read so many places that there's a full credit search. (Reason being I have 4 year old default so we are a bit concerned), I told him if the mortgage in principle gets accepted then we still have to get through the actual credit check - and he insists this acceptance means we have it. I think I know the answer but wanted to check anyway.

Thanks guys ( still waiting on the dip check - MA's internet was down all day so he hasn't managed to put it through!!! :(

I had my dip and full application a week apart. She asked for my dip did I want to do the credit check then, I said yes might as well as long as it doesn't look wrong if I have lots of searches. She said it was fine as it would be the same bank. When I had the full application she did another credit check to make sure nothing had changed, even though it was only the week before she'd done the last one. So I'd think you do have two especially if there is a bit of time between the dip and full application.
