Can anyone advise me about the £1000 retention that Halifax have placed on my mortgage. How should I proceed with that?

Had our mortgage decision last week and have been brilliantly supported by Dave Ham and his firm in going through the process. Very straighforward, info to us promptly and two weeks from application to decision. Just wish our buyer had used them too rather than the estate agents internal guy!

    Waiting on the legals now.

    Mortgage offered 23/10/13 :j

Slight set back- we are in a chain of 3, However vendor's seller has pulled out of the chain, empathise with her as she really wanted the house, what more can i do to offer support to her? Not rushing her is a start, does anyone now how soon she can find another house to buy?? how long is a piece of string i suppose.

Our Vendor pulled out of sale 30/10/13
Back to the beginning again, lost all the fees for searches and Survey
Viewing of another house (NO CHAIN AND UNOCCUPIED!!!!) & offer 2/11/13
    offer accepted 3/11/13
Reapplication for mortgage (that was quickest way to change house details on mortgage, had to pay again all fees) 5/11/13
    Valuation 8/11/13 (Fingers crossed!!!!)
