i've found a lot of posts on here very useful, but it's the equivalent of getting a small white head and google diagnosing it as carcinoma. a lot of horror stories making me think i'm going to be laughed out of the bank when all i had to worry about was whether the bank were going to lend on the full amount (which they did) or the lower amount due to the very minor amount of work that needed doing.helpful tips

Today have received the formal mortgage offer.
Dip took three weeks started on the 10th September and they let us know on the 28th September.
Formal application on the 28th October
Valuation on the 31st October
Formal mortgage offer 1st Nov.

We found out yesterday that the forward chain (our sellers purchase) has fallen through due to the owners of the house they are buying taking their property off the market. Have had to put a hold on the survey being booked on the house we want until our sellers find a new property. Thanksfully they have lots of viewings booked this week so hoping they will find something without a chain.If it doesn’t move, and it should, use WD-40. If it moves, and it shouldn’t, use duct tape!0
