Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

I'm surprised a lender can really be that dense!
If you start a job part way through the year, there's a chance the full year's income will not be on there, despite the fact the employer should take the P45 earnings from that and add it to the P60.
Most lenders take latest payslips for evidence of income and only use P60 for employment details. They should be able to request an employer's reference if they really need further information.

FTB-er here too
03.10.13 – AIP with Halifax
26.10.13 – Offer accepted on House
28.10.13 – Submitted full application via mortgage advisor, provided payslips, bank statements etc in case these are needed. Also provided card details for survey fee but this hasn't been taken from my account yet.
So nervous about full application as I have 2 satisfied defaults from just under 5 years ago. Mortgage advisor seemed to think this would be ok with Halifax (he has a copy of my credit report) and provided full info for the AIP, which was granted at £50k more than we actually need to borrow. We have 15% deposit which we are hoping will help too.
Will they know whether we have passed credit checking before they book the survey and take the fees?If it doesn’t move, and it should, use WD-40. If it moves, and it shouldn’t, use duct tape!0 -
i can't remember when anything was done (AIP etc.) but i got a call today to say our builders' report's been accepted, the bank's surveyor is happy to proceed with it as it needs minimal work (less than a grand), the bank are happy with that, so now it's with the underwriters.
nervous is an understatement. we've been told over and over we've scored fine for the mortgage (during the AIP) and that it should be fine, but my !!!! is blowing like a leaf blower.
credit file is showing all greens for the last 18 months (at least), no missed payments, credit card paid in full every month for the last 4/5 months (always paid a lot more than the minimum every month), deposit is all our own savings.
i'm gonna be glum all weekend until we get the decision (and then even glummer if it's a no)

FTBer...applying via First Direct for £105k on £125k purchase price
26/09/2013 Telephone application made (1hr 45 mins)
04/10/2013 Printed application forms received in the post
11/10/2013 Application forms posted back to First Direct (had to organise authorised ID with solicitors)
15/10/2013 Application forms received and scanned by First Direct
17/10/2013 Mortgage approved subject to valuation and 'satisfactory bank account opening checks'
25/10/2013 Surveyor instructed by First Direct (Countrywide)
29/10/2013 Received debit cards for First Direct bank account (mandatory with their mortgages)
30/10/2013 First Direct contacted us to say documents on way to solicitors within 7 days
Countrywide not yet made an appointment for the valuation, however we are assuming (hoping!!) that now they have instructed the valuation (which they pay for) we are good to go assuming the valuation raises no issues. We have access to credit reports and can see we have both been credit checked twice - once with Experian (on the 26/09/2013) and once with Equifax (on 17/10/2013).
Hope this helps anyone also applying with First Direct in terms of timescales. They seem to be moving along pretty quickly since they received the application forms back, but we have been ringing them twice a week for updates, as advised by their own advisors.0 -
i've just had an email from experian (fraud prevention package with my bank account) and the credit search has been done, but the bank's shut so i won't hear until tomorrow.

Hi , we are in a very similar boat. Submitted 28th too, there is a hold in the money for the fee and survey from my bank but not yet taken. I can't afford the £425 valuation fee if I then fail the credit check. We have just been turned down by nationwide so this is our last shot. I don't feel too hopeful :-(0 -
Happiness/hope wrote: »Called today for an update and the bank advised that they where waiting for my signature due to change of name as the application is made in my married name. However I had gone into the bank with ID and left my signature, for some reason this was not forwarded to the underwriter with the other supporting documents. Anyway all done now. And the wait continues should hear from the next week........Good Luck everyone:o)
After going into the HSBC branch and left my signature with them for the second time, on Friday. Rang them today to confirm receipt of the signature. Apparently this hasn't been scanned for the underwriters to see on there system. So still waiting. We have been told they should receive by tomorrow fingers cross. :eek:0 -
