FTB here, Using Nationwide through L&C, going through the underwriting process having my documents checked, then got to arrange the valuation on the property - I think I've got a couple of weeks before I'll be getting an offer, extra nervous few weeks coming up.

    Offer Accepted: 19/10/15
Full Application Submitted with all documents sent: 26/10/15

Just a waiting game now :(, seems to be going slower than most if I'm already at a weeks wait after submitting documents.
  • Hi All,

Currently waiting for a decision from Halifax.

    27/10 AIP
    28/10 Full Application sent
29/10 Told we had passed the checks so a valuation would be arranged
30/10 Broker received our mortgage offer - assumed the valuation was a drive-by
30/10 Received a phone call to book a valuation ....
    31/10 Valuation completed

We are now waiting to find out if the original offer we received still stands now the valuation has actually been done!

Has anyone else experienced an offer being made and THEN being told a valuation was needed?!

That seems very odd about having an offer but then having a valuation, unless it was similar to what we had - an offer subject to valuation?
Looks like you passed the affordability on the same day as us (also with halifax) - maybe that means we will hear soon too.
    fingers crossed for you!

Bee70 - did you actually get any paperwork when you got an offer subject to valuation? I've actually been sent something called 'Your Mortgage Offer' but it doesn't say anything about a valuation.

Our broker was surprised they had booked the valuation in, but it was late on Friday and he couldn't get through on the phone before they closed.

Fingers crossed for you as well!

Am 2 weeks away from completion but my account went into arranged overdraft yesterday. Only for 20 hours though same working day i balanced it up.
Should i be worried they will pull the mortgage offer?
  • It will be a week tomorrow since our full application was submitted, we signed a dd mandate yesterday and other forms. Will that put us to the bottom with Leeds? I am such a nervous wreck.
  • I'm actually surprised I'm not off work worrying. I have general anxiety disorder but I'm more eager than worried. I guess I spend more time worrying about things that will never happen.
  • Also part of the worry/anxiety club, this is awful but exciting!

Going to chase today as still heard nothing :(

Just heard from our broker that the valuation is 10% less than the offer price (let alone the asking price!) - we asked for a homebuyers, so need to now wait for 5 days to get the report to find out why it has been devalued so much. Practically pulling my hair out now!
