  • Mortgage application sent in to Skipton today, now just a waiting game. Does anyone have any experience of dealing with them?

We're FTB's and buying with no chain so hoping things will be kept simple :)

We have now had our mortgage offer through from Natwest:

    Full Application 21/10/15
    Valuation Fee Taken 3/11/15
    Valuation Done 4/11/15
    Offer in post 7/11/15

So about 2.5 weeks which was great, our broker definitely made things easier for us. Onto the next step with solicitors and trying to get a completion date now. All being well. Good luck everyone!
  • I'm still waiting, but my valuation is tomorrow so hopefully done by friday/monday :(
  • Survey is booked for Thursday 12th November.....Finally :)

  • Well informed by broker that precise had all the paperwork they need (for now, will probably request a load more, again!). Valuation was meant to be last Tuesday but valued was ill, so waiting for it to be rescheduled.
Anyone know if that's a good thing with precise, i.e. Valuation is instructed if affordability is passed. Or if it just a bit of a random order in which things happen?

hang in there Westbeef - sounds like the end is in sight.
After a slight hiccup of a low valuation, hoping to have the final offer in a day or 2. We are at 4 weeks now :(
  • My Mortgage Advisor said that precise are very quick in booking the valuation before they give a full answer.

I have had to give them so much like my contract for work and my P45 from my last job........they also have my P60 and all payslips except October's as this hasn't been issued yet. I held the survey off for the last 2 weeks.

Precise do like to go over everything with a fine tooth comb but it will be worth it just hold in there Mr Potato

Halifax has arranged valuation for tomorrow. There was a delay as they couldn't get hold of the developer to book the appointment in. All things going well I should have the offer early next week, according to my broker. Application started on 4th November - if I get it within 2 weeks of application I will be well impressed!
  • Hi Rusty - we have a mortgage offer from Halifax and received confirmation of the offer the day after the valuation of the new build house. So you may have it even sooner than you think!
  • Valuation done today and nationwide received report. Fingers crossed for an offer by the end of the week! :).
