  • Had money taken for a Virgin Money valuation yesterday, they also contacted girlfriends workplace yesterday to ask for a few details on her employment regarding shareholding and type of employment (she's permanent with a 10% stake in company). Fingers crossed all goes ok.
  • Phew - the second Santander mortgage approval (due to new build being delayed and mortgage expiring) has gone through in under a week, and is valid now for nine months. Interest rate lower too!

Re-offer had to be redone though, as they used the old valuation which still expires 27th October! Broker sorted it - should hopefully get new offer in post this week.

    And breathe...... :)
  • Had Halifax DIP done and was accepted. Worried when it goes to full application it will be declined though, due to x2 defaults! they're 4 and 2 years old now (fully satisfied and paid in full at the time). Credit rating now classified as excellent. Both defaults were registered at my current address, does anyone know if they would have been picked up on the soft search Halifax do??? so worried :(

I seen the property on at start of the month and liked the place. Got DIP from HSBC directly on the following day and had the offer on it accepted on the same day. Did the full application on the following Saturday and signed the paperwork for for the mortgage last Thursday. Now I am waiting for the valuation on the place to get the mortgage offer. :( Really nervous!

Poppy we are with Halifax too. After our DIP they then a hard search so would spot it then. I've chased Halifax up today as has nearly been 2weeks. Gone through to senior underwriter who will give a decision subject to valuation in a few days. Nearly there! Mind you then ha e to get valuation and full offer but will feel much happier once I know they are happy with the affordability

    Mortgage approved today!!

    10/10/05 Applied online
14/10/15 Sent documents (payslips etc) sent via HSBC online document sender
21/10/2015 Declined by underwriter based on affordability
22/10/2015 Discussion to include bonus amounts from past 3 years in calculation with underwriter
25/10/15 Sent P60 documents to prove additional earnings
27/10/15 Call from underwriter to confirm mortgage approved

Have to say HSBC have been very fast and efficient. Just got to wait for the valuation now over the next couple of days.
  • Bee70 would they not have seen it during the DIP soft search?
I checked my Experian and can see there are two soft searches on there (Halifax and RBS I think). Surely they would have seen them already? so scared!!

yes - we have a couple that are 3 years old, but I think is mainly the affordability as our childcare costs cancel out an entire salary, and they only take 60% of tax credits into account
  • I see Bee70, well good luck to you. It is so stressful.
My two were 2 and 4 years ago (paid off at the time) and my score now is deemed as excellent by experian. Our affordability is fine, i'm just in a stress about the defaults. I just want to know if they would have been picked up during DIP soft search? as they were registered at my current address.
  • I'm awaiting a decision from Leeds BS. I've had the Decision In Principle, however the full submission has gone in a week ago, I wouldn't mind but I am not after a huge amount of money, but they are asking for loads of documents, and are actually refusing to take elements of my wages, because its built up of guaranteed overtime, but is worded as banked. I've had to send in Contract, T&Cs, and today they want me to scan a copy of my debit card to send to them which is a bit weird frankly.

I think I will only do this the once, I can't be dealing with the waiting it drives me mad, and in a world of online statements, bills and various other wonderful tidbits, to keep being asked for proof of address via a paper statement is a joke.

As you can tell the whole process is starting to annoy me. Probably should have just kept renting! :rotfl:
