Just had the valuation come through from West Brom - they have valued it as I did so 80% LTV is brilliant. Just waiting for the underwriters now.30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.0

Broker called this morning to say Natwest have accepted mortgage and offer should be in the post today YAY !0

How relieved am I now? After our valuation came in £2k below our accepted offer, Halifax phoned me today to say that the valuation can be 'adjusted for mortgage purposes'. They're now going to send a new revised valuation to us along with our mortgage offer.
This is such a massive weight off our shoulders as if this had fallen through, we really didn't want to have to go back to square one and start looking for houses again. Everything is back on track now so we couldn't be happier.0 -
I've just applied for a mortgage yesterday with Halifax via a broker. It's all been accepted and valuation paid for and booked for next Friday. So, what stage am I at? Am I just awaiting the valuation for approval?!0

Well, just spoken to West Brom BS and mortgage offer is in the post! Applied on 16th Aug, AIP on the 17th Aug and Offer on 18th Sep.
Really happy with the West Brom BS, very efficient - good luck to theeveryone else who's waiting!30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.0 -
I am still waiting to get confirmation of offer from Natwest ( they got valuation yesterday ) have got my homebuyer report and after first reading was terrified but after a couple more readings and research is not so bad think alot is surveyor covering themself, just hope all goes ok from here !
I found the same with my homebuyers. The way it sounded was like eveything was just about to fall down! I moped for a few hours, considering pulling out until my husband came home, read it and reassured me.FTB

So we now have an independant surveyor going out on Monday to do a damp & timber report on our (fingers crossed) new house!
Hopefully everything is ok with that and when we send it back to the lender, their valuer ok's it and our mortgage offer (apparently already in the post) stands.
Think I will let my partner, who is a quantity surveyor, read the valuation and damp & timber reports - if it says 1 negative thing, I will just scare myself thinking that in 18 months time we will just have a pile of bricks left :rotfl:

I've just checked the Skipton mortgage application tracker website to find that the valuation that was booked for the 23rd has actually been received back by them on the 19th - so hopefully I will hear on Monday if that's all OK.
I wish I'd known as I could have kept my fingers crossed on the 19th, but I was in blissful ignorance ( just as well , really as I'm finding the whole process a bit stressful)

Mortgage offer received! :j
Still really surprised by how quick it was, only 10 days from officially submitting the application to receiving the offer, well done Abbey for being so speedy :T
Not sure I totally believe it yet!Mortgage received 21/12/2018
Mortgage at start - £261,980
Current mortgage - £260,276
Saving towards a loft conversion first, then to smash the mortgage down!0 -
Congrats to everyone who has had their offer.
I'm still waiting - broker has just asked me if I have always been known by this name as the lender wants to know - not quite sure what that means, but at least it means they are looking at it now. ( I like to stay positive)[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0
