Hi Ellabella500, when we got to this stage with Nationwide and they told us that, our mortgage offer was produced less than 48 hours later. Hope it won't be too long for you0 -
Updated
28/09/14 - Applied for DIP online - accepted
08/12/14 - House found and offer accepted
09/12/14 - Applied for Nationwide mortgage online
10/12/14 - Valuation instructed
12/12/14 - Valuation returned - waiting for approval
13/12/14 - sending in supporting docs for OH and proof of address for me
17/12/14 - mortgages offer received
Could not be happier with the service offer by NW.
To put this in context
Joint income - 42k
Mortgage for £107100 - 90% LTV
debt total - £1500 approx
Good credit rating
Hopefully exchange will go just as smoothly now0 -
So, I am back in here now! Had offer accepted on house yesterday, finished full online application with Nationwide last night, paid for valuation over the phone this morning and got a text this afternoon to say a valuation for your mortgage application has been booked on 17/12/2014 (which is today! not sure how they have managed to go and get it done so quickly!)
Aim is to complete on sale and purchase by 30th January (as that is the date my buyers mortgage offer expires!!).
Apparently my buyers solicitor is awaiting answers to some queries from my solicitors (I've been informed that they have answered what they can and some queries will be coming to me to answer as soon as they've reviewed my file). Hopefully that all won't take too long!
Feeling quite stressed now to be honest!0 -
Thanks for the positivity - much appreciated in a time where it's all feeling very negative.
Broker spoke to his contact at Accord who said that he thinks we'll be fine. After reading countless reviews of Accord I have to say I am terrified about this prospect and I'm not entirely sure this is the best idea. Trying to have as much faith in my Broker as possible, but this just seems nutty to me!
This appears reckless, no doubt your friendly Estate Agent is chasing down on your mortgage offer/valuation and Accord is not likely to be quick/easy or even possible.
Personally would consider sacrificing rate to ensure speed and efficiency to protect the purchase, will not be a big sacrifice in any case.
Best of luckI am a Mortgage Broker

Thanks for your thoughts Dave. Estate Agent is OK at the moment and everyone is quite calm. But, I really appreciate your viewpoint. We did consider sacrificing the rate for someone else, but broker seems confident that this will work - I have to have my faith in him at this point. It's all a bit stressful and beyond us at the moment!!0 -
I would be asking how many times in the last 6 months he has used Accord?
Anything unusual (and I mean just a little bit) and then Accord is unlikely to be the ticket.
You will see a lot of experienced brokers on here that will not use Accord unless we absolutely have to for criteria reasons.
Really grill your broker and triple check they are sureI am a Mortgage Broker

Thirded(?).
Would think hard about using Accord, even if last resort.
Certainly not in this instance where, it appears, time is of the essence given the BoI decline!I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. And now nat west have decided the surveyor needs to reissue the vaulation survey. I have to say I am incredibly pleased with our Mortgage Broker who has done a very good job (for very little reward I suspect!)
And NOW natwest are claiming they never received the ID they requested a month ago
ETA: And having looked at natwest's website I think I know what the problem is- they want certified copies of passports (which we weren't asked to provide)...0 -
I can start my timeline so here goes
11/12/14-AIP via broker with Santander
14/12/14-Offer accepted on property
18/12/14-FMA with broker
I am in a chain of three, FTB purchasing my property, I am buying a property with no onward chain.
Two things to worry about, the first is my buyers pulling out and the second is getting approved for this mortgage!0
