Which version of your credit file are you looking at?

I am not sure what you mean by the version but I checked my Experian credit report this morning & no new searches for this year so far. In the same report – I can see that my partner’s check is placed under ‘Financial associate’s searches’ area. This is really bizarre.

Actually, the same happened in my case. DIP credit search appears on checkmyfile.com(from Experian), but no DIP search or FMA search can be visible at all on Credit Expert(Experian). It sucks that searches are not picked up on their own reports.

    More waiting !
  • 10/08/14 DIP with Leeds building society via IFA for 50% shared ownership house
    08/09/14 full application with Leeds
16/09/14 Leeds request proof of address for a house I lived at 4 years ago
9/10/14 offered mortgage for half of what I asked for as Leeds stated they do not take into consideration tax credits towards my daughters nursery fees! Making my expenditure look much higher!
    10/10/14 DIP with nationwide
23/10/14 paper application submitted through IFA

This process is dragging on! X

Coming up to three weeks since applying now and not much has been done. My financial advisor is useless at keeping me up to date and promises to get back to me and then doesn't. I spoke to nationwide who said they had to audit my application because it had been submitted on paper (current and previous address very similar), they said that it was waiting to be signed off in head office. No survey has been booked but the money has been taken.
The seller is texting me daily and harassing the housing association asking why we don't have a mortgage offer yet.
I'm started to feel very frustrated with the whole thing! X
  • 11/11 - still waiting. Was credit checked twice last week and apparently app was with underwriters, then valuation happened on fri, was approved on Saturday. Tracker hasn't moved on since... any idea what they're doing now?
  • 13/11 Offer received this morning! ....and now I can breathe. I was convinced it was a no.

Nationwide could at least check everything and raise any requirements for extra documents in one go, rather than piecemeal with 2 days between each request. Not very good customer experience.
  • Been reading through these and thought I'd join in

  • Hi All,

I just wanted to say we completed 2 days ago after loads of problems with mortgages/valuations/house etc. We had a complicated deal with remortgages of our 2 other houses. In the end it all worked out well and we are happy owners of our lovely home (that needs a lot of work and again money to be even nicer and better for us).

I will not go into details of all the issues involved and timescale as it was 3 banks 1 depending on the other, us changing for better deal etc. but to give you an idea our offer was accepted on the 18th August.

I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all of you here as this forum is very helpful, supportive and informative. Thanks to you, we saved £100 per calendar month (due to interest dropping and my asking of a new application), another £2k when I read on MSE that we would have to pay stamp duty to put my husband on my BTL mortgage and if it wasnt for this forum, I am not sure we would get the right broker who found very good deals for us and was free!

It has been a very stressful journey but I am sure it will be well worth it once we sit down at a bbq in our massive new garden and enjoy our open space living area (once it is done).

So again, THANKS GUYS AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR MORTGAGE OFFERS AND HOUSE PURCHASES! xxx
