Broker has advised today that the valuation has been carried out and application is in the final stages of underwriting, he is confident we should receive an offer by the end of this week but I never count my chickens until they've hatched so we will see!

Kingstreet, Am I being unreasonable to think the financial advisors should've known that, seeing as though they said they deal with Leeds all the time? When that fell through they said they wouldn't charge me their fee (although they normally would've even if the mortgage didn't go through), still lost £230 for the mortgage product fee though.
I'm now applying for another mortgage with nationwide after raising a bit more deposit, but I've had to go with the same financial advisor as this is what the housing association want x0 -

Brokers should ensure their client fully meets the lender's criteria before applying for even an agreement in principle.I am a mortgage broker. We now have TWO mortgage offers!!
We initially applied through West Brom, after 6 weeks of jumping through hoops, them requesting every document under the sun, request partners SE income from 2010 (SA320's I think), mortgage broker advised we ditched them and applied through Santander instead. Offer received within TWO DAYS!
We just left the West Brom pending documentation (proof of partners income!), we haven't heard from them in three weeks and haven't sent through the requested info and I received a message today saying congratulations your mortgage has been offered!!
I can't get hold of broker, I'm now terrified this will have an impact on Santander application and may effect Pre completion credit checks etc.
Honestly, I can't take any more stress as vendors are pushing to complete within two weeks!0 -

A friend is an IFA so contacted him to ask mortgage questions.
22/9 two AIP s, one lender would only lend a low amount
9/10 second viewing on a lovely flat, put in an offer which was declined, go slightly higher and accepted
10/10 try to instruct lawyers, person who takes money isn't in the office
13/10 pay Solicitors a start fee
13/10 give my IFA my latest documents
13/10 IFA goes back to the low amount lender as covered this flat but once details fully in including the service charges they say no.
14/10 IFA appeals as about a grand out they say no (not a full app)
14/10 increase my deposit (was 17% deposit upgraded to 20%)
14/10 AIP with natwest
16/10 full application with natwest as IFA had a course day before...
19/10 details of deposit etc sent to IFA
21/10 valuation fee taken
21/10 IFA confirms natwest said proceeding to valuation and valuation should be this week!
FTB buying on my own so all new and confusing to me!
24/10 property valued
28/10 IFA confirms natwest are sending out a formal mortgage offer in the post today, property valued at offer no problem!!!0 -

16 Oct - letter received from Coventry confirming our application was being processed and a valuation survey had already been booked
19 Oct - I booked our own survey, a homebuyers report with an option for a full building survey if the surveyor feels it's necessary once he is at he property, for 2 Nov.
21 Oct - EA confirmed buyer has found a property, our chain is complete
27 Oct - Mortgage valuation survey
29 Oct - Received word from our broker that the survey was fine and an offer is being made. Broker will be in touch once he has the offer in his hands.
So I guess we are just about there! Over to the "Waiting to Exchange" thread.0 -

Had my valuation fee taken from my account today but no texts despite my financial advisor assuring me she's set the text/email system up.
She had to do a paper application as my current address and previous address are very similar (same building, different flat). Does anyone know if this usually lengthens the process at all?
Thanks x0
