  • Looking to join the (for lack of a better word) party!

FTB been looking for eight months for the perfect place. Offer now in on aforementioned perfect place, mortgage application in last Friday, cost of survey disappeared from my account yesterday! Eeep, so horribly nervous. Does the cost of the survey generally get taken that quickly? I can't imagine they have done anything with the application yet.
  • Well I have had great news today. Offer is the post, hooray! Still waiting on the draft contracts from the seller's solicitor though. Grrrrrr !! Valuation was carried out yesterday so I am very pleased it's all happening so swifty.

still waiting to formally put in an application as my mortgage advisor is waiting for BS to drop their rates. So I cannot book a valuation yet, though the underwriter said I will be ok and they would offer me a mortgage, he's done a credit search on me already.

so just a matter of time, perhaps by next couple of days we will put application in.
  • good luck and keep us posted how you get on

Had a very stressful time with Nationwide so far, got the DiP fine after being referred (for seemingly no good reason), then upon starting the full application in branch it came back as rejected!!

Turns out it was a system error on their end with 2 duplicate records so that the system thought we had 2 existing mortgages instead of just 1!

This delayed things by a good week or two as they had to get head office to amend the system, and start the entire thing again from scratch (including DiP).

Luckily we're part exing for a new build so at least we don't have any buyers to annoy.

Full app finally went in on Friday, advisor at branch told us the underwriters have "pre approved" our app (what in earth does that mean over and above DiP? Seeing as they'd already reviewed all our documents just for the blooming DiP!)... valuation was ordered today (don't know for when yet).

So a week or so of waiting with my stress head firmly on...!!
  • I had a cry on Sunday! It's such a long, stressful process!
Mortgage is with precise, no online tracking, all done through a broker.
Broker is great though- chased things today even though they said they'd be ringing tomorrow :)
