Our application is currently with the underwriters. No valuation yet so I'm thinking they do their underwriting etc before valuation. FC
    VSPC #183 £6.32
    SPC £8

They first wanted a couple more payslips, then my last mortgage statement to show equity. Valuation not done yet. Hey :) things are progressing slow and steady! Had delays with sellers solicitor which delayed in getting the draft contracts sent across but hopefully that should be done this week!

What's next for you? Have you instructed your solicitors?

Fingers crossed for you! Slow and steady wins the race and all that. :) Be sure to keep us posted.

Yes, we've instructed solicitors and surveys have been done. One threw up a little query but we're hoping it will be OK.

We're almost a year into this process, on the second house following severe delays and we are now, I hate to say it, used to false promises. So we're taking every day and every proposed date as it comes.

    Hi all,

Need some advice/help please .. Our buyers buyer have had their mortgage offer through however it was subject to Structural survey due to a crack, long story short the crack was caused by a tree next door, tree surgeon suggested maintenance of tree or removal neighbour happy to remove tree.. Now all reports sent to santander for a decision on mortgage offer it's now 7 working days and nothing yet?? Getting really worried as it might be bad news.. Can anybody shed any light or experiences please..... Thank you..
  • Hi all

Not joined this thread before, but I've been avidly reading and following everyone's progress as we've been getting our own finances shaped up for mortgage application. Your help, although you didn't know you were giving it, has been invaluable so thank you.

    So- our timings are:-

    Halifax Help To Buy (95%)

    DIP given 19th August
Offer on house made and accepted 3rd Sep
    Full application made 10th Sep
    Valuation fee taken 11th Sep
    Valuation booked 12th Sep
    Valuation completed 17th Sep
Confirmation of mortgage approval (via broker) same day, 17th Sep
Mortgage offer received in post 23rd Sep :j

I am so happy and relieved, I really can't believe how quick and painless it has been :)

Good luck to anyone else out there waiting
  • Still waiting for our offer

    Valuation was 10 days ago.

They have since asked for 3 months payslips and then a copy of deposit later on. Every time the broker submits aomething, it seems to take them 2 days to look at it.

Surely this process could be done quicker?
  • laurie - sorry if you mentioned this before but who is your mortgage application with? Another day people I hope we all hear something good today.

16th Sep - Full application sent in to Nationwide, DIP received, payslips/bank statements sent to broker (L&C)
22/9 - Survey contract received (Nationwide have instructed Countrywide :( )
23/9 - Email received to say valuation is due to take place today

Still waiting on draft contract from the vendors. Offer was accepted two weeks ago, no chain on either side and house has been on the market a few times in the last year. I'm far too impatient for this process!

Solicitors haven't asked me for any money yet, last time I checked they said they'd send out a letter once they'd had documents from the sellers and could commence with searches.

Yes. Your solicitor is awaiting the draft contract from the vendor's solicitor.

That may well be because the vendor has been slow to respond to the request for information about the property and mortgage, or the solicitor is awaiting information from a third party.

Your solicitor can do nothing without the draft contract.

Thanks Kingstreet. I'm wondering how long to wait before chasing up the draft contract? It's only been a couple of weeks so far.

Slightly tempted to get in touch with the surveyors to find out when I should expect a report, but according to the email that was only scheduled for yesterday so I'm not expecting to find out much!
