AIP from broker received 2nd June. Put offer in on house - offer declined as higher offer received, so we continued looking. Fast forward to now -
Put offer in on 01/09/14 and offer accepted 02/09/14.
AIP with broker revised and advised to apply via Natwest - broker seemed to be doing a lot of work on our behalf. Informed us she had put application to Natwest and on 04/09/14 were advised our mortgage had been 'approved' by Natwest and they would be arranging valuation.
Supporting documents requested by broker on 05/09/14 - bank statements payslips signature on application/direct debit mandate etc.

Bit worried? How can a mortgage be approved without supporting documents? I worry we will be knocked back at a later date, having been refused a mortgage 18 months ago for errors on credit report (all rectified now - should have checked it first!)

Anyone any idea what it all means? I assume the full mortgage application hasn't yet gone in without the supporting docs?

You submit the app to NatWest.

After a day or so, you get the application number emailed to you and you then submit the supporting docs.

IMHO no broker should be submitting a mortgage application without all the documents which might be requested, already in hand.

  • Still waiting.........

Application keyed to Woolwich 10th JUNE 2014!
Valuation done and passed in july. Woolwich now asking for 2 years accounts which we do not have as the companies year end is December! Hubby been self employed for years before hand in same industry so has SA302s to prove income, Ltd co was only set up Jan 2013.
Broker was going to pull application a few weeks ago but then woolwich decided that they might accept a draft of the accounts from Jan-Aug and a forcast from Aug-Dec. Accountant been on it and the draft and forcast was forwarded to broker last week, she then sent to lenders.
    Now we wait!

I am so darn nervous, this whole mortgage thing has been an absoloute nightmare!!! Stressed does not come close! So down about it i am now on anti-depressants :( and every one says this is supposed to be an exciting and happy time.......

House will not be ready until Nov/Dec so thats one good thing i suppose.

Hi everyone! I would like to join you all at this very very nervous time! Here's my story...

Back at the beginning of May 2014 we found a freehold house in a shared ownership scheme. Had viewing and thought the place needed a lot of work but was in our price range so decided to go for it but put an offer in at 70K rather than the 80K they were asking because of all the work that needed doing. Counter offer of 72,500K accepted.

Mortgage with Santander was put in immediately after AIP for 54k was given (we had a 27K deposit). Valuation took place and official offer of 45K was offered by Santander. We went to our solicitors to then find out the house was leasehold with only a few years left on it!

After a lot of wrangling with the vender and then Santander dropping mortgage to 33k we decided to withdraw our offer.

Now we have a new build house at 95k on shared ownership that we are eagerly awaiting news on our mortgage with nationwide. Our deposit is now 32k and had an AIP given on 22nd Aug. Now 2 weeks later and a holding fee payed on the house I need to hear some news from our broker!!! It's killing me!! Called this morning but waiting for a call back... We have 6 weeks to complete the sale!

Update... Broker just called and he hadn't even put in the full application because he went on holiday!! He also wasn't sure what product we wanted... Grrrrr! Anyhow I've told him we are on a 6 week deadline and he's now drawing up the application, we opted for 5 yrs fixed. Should hopefully be in tomorrow! What a waste of 2 weeks :(

Virgin have come back and said the valuer says the property we are buying is near contaminated land so they want solicitors to make enquiries to local environmental health officer and environmental agency to determine whether the property and occupants are likely to be effected. This will then has to go back to virgin to forward to valuer to make comments on to see if property is mortgageable!!!

    Agghhh!

Are these one of the searches the solicitors does anyway ( says local searches on my quote).

    Has anyone else had this?
  • App with Natwest 27th Aug - £90k mortgage on £130k property.

Week later requested payslip and bank statements (already lodged with broker)

Now today requested another 3 payslips. Luckily I keep my payslips for last year after previous situation with a mortgage app. Sacnned and emailed across this afternoon.

Valuation funds still waiting to be taken.

    This is torture.... :rotfl:

    That's an extended environmental search.

Why? Do you have variable earnings like overtime you are using to meet affordability?
