16/08/14: 2 searches showing up on Experian (RBS - MORTGAGE QUOTATION & HALIFAX - ID GENERIC CHECK)
    18/08/14: Offer accepted on property
    26/08/14: Full application submitted
28/08/14: Valuation funds taken from account

No, not really. This is our worse nightmare.

First we need to renegotiate with our buyers and go from there.

Finally had the official mortgage offer today from Leeds!!

    Wow that was a wait!

To everyone still waiting its not nice and it does seem to take forever but it'll be worth it in the end!

See you all on the waiting to exchange board very soon hopefully!
  • The house we want to buy has been undervalued by 30k. There is absolutely no chance of the seller reducing at all. We asked for a re-valuation but that can't happen, mainly because Nationwide are idiots. So we're back to square one and are applying with another lender.

We've wasted so long already though, and I'm worried the seller will get fed up and pull out. They accepted a much lower offer (40k less than it was on the market for) because we don't have a house to sell and were in a position to move quickly. It's just all so frustrating!

Is 10% a large percentage of the purchase price? If you can take a hit of 10k, and negotiate a similar reduction from the property you are buying it might work out. Fingers crossed!

Virgin have asked for proof of selling price of my house. I can send them the sales notice from the housing association (it is shared ownership). I don't have much equity in it ( our deposit is saved up in cash). Aslong as the selling price is more than the balance outstanding on the mortgage (which it is) will they ask anymore questions? Wondering whether I should send evidence of the deposit too in case they want it.

Just emailed my broker a huge number of scanned documents. Scary to think it could still go wrong after the stress of finding somewhere and having an offer accepted.

    Mortgage offer received. So relieved.

    Full app: 19/8
    Valuation: 22/8
    Offer: 2/9

  • Does anyone know how long it takes from when nationwide text saying "offer issued" to when the hard copies are recieved?
